At Børnehuset Land og By on Nørrebro, we are looking for lively, optimistic pedagogues for both the toddler group and the kindergarten. We are a house in development, where we together work to create the best framework for the children’s well-being, learning, development and formation.

Here you will have the opportunity to put your professional expertise into play, immerse yourself in the relationships with the children and become part of a working community where we develop the pedagogical practice together.

A childhood life with room for adventure

One of the special things about Børnehuset Land og By is our outpost area in Mikkelborg near Rungsted, where the three kindergarten groups rotate taking care of two groups at a time and spend two weeks out of three there. The last week we are back in the house on Nørrebro.

In the countryside, children have the opportunity to explore nature, play on our large grounds, experience the beach just outside the door and go on adventures in the forest in the backyard.

There is room here for movement, imagination, immersion and shared experiences – and to follow the children's initiatives and let their curiosity lead the way.

In the city, we also create frameworks for presence, play, communities and exciting everyday experiences.

In the toddler group you get the opportunity to closely follow the development of the youngest children and help create a daily life where there is room for each child's needs, curiosity and initiatives. We know that small moments make a big difference – the gaze, the smile, the secure hug and the adult who is close by and helps the child explore the world at their own pace.

We deliberately work to create secure frames where the children can develop their independence, language, motor skills and social relationships through play, repetition and attentive interaction.

Secure relationships are the foundation

We believe that children thrive when they can. Therefore our pedagogical work takes its starting point in trust, security and credibility in the relationship between child and adult. We work with inspiration from the Safety Circle and Low Arousal – also called tuned pedagogy – and focus on meeting the children with care, understanding and appropriate expectations.

We aim to create a daily life where the children feel seen, understood and meaningful.

This means, among other things, that we

• are curious about the children’s perspectives, needs and initiatives
• put words to the children’s actions and feelings and help them understand themselves and others
• adjust our demands and support to each child and the needs of the child group
• give space for both child-initiated play and adult-planned activities
• support the children’s linguistic, motor and social development through presence and participation

We are focused on creating a child-friendly everyday life where play, relationships and the small moments get the space they deserve.

We develop together – professionally and personally

At Land og By you become part of a staff group with a strong focus on professional development. We systematically work to investigate and develop the quality of our pedagogical practice. We use tools such as TOPI, Language Staircase and KIDS and use our observations and data to become wiser about the children’s everyday life and our own practice.

We prioritize meetings, preparation and planning, because we know that good pedagogy requires time for professional reflection and a common direction.

At the same time, we believe that a good childhood begins with adults who thrive in their work. Therefore we focus on a sustainable working environment, collegial feedback and a culture where we help each other and take shared responsibility.

At Børnehuset Land og By we believe that good pedagogy develops in close collaboration between staff and leadership. Therefore we prioritise accessible leadership that is close to daily life and the staff’s practice – both in the Nørrebro house and in our outpost in Mikkelborg.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are trained as a pedagogue – whether you are newly trained or have many years of experience.

• want to create presence-enhancing and developmental relationships with children
• are attentive to the children’s initiatives and can adapt your pedagogy to their needs
• can take responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating play and activities
• are curious about your own practice and want to develop professionally together with your colleagues
• have an interest in or a desire to learn more about the Safety Circle and Low Arousal
• can maintain your professional calm and reflect on your own role in the interaction with the children
• wish to contribute actively to a positive and commitment-filled work community

Who are we?

Børnehuset Land og By is an integrated day care center in the middle of Nørrebro with an outpost in Mikkelborg near Rungsted. We have 111 children aged 0-6 years distributed across six groups: about 42 toddlers and 69 kindergarten children. Our staff consists of 25 adults, two pedagogical leaders and an engaged and cooperative board of parents.

We are part of Area NORD, Cluster B, where we collaborate on language, work environment and professional development. With us you get engaged colleagues, leadership focused on pedagogical quality and professional development, and the opportunity to influence everyday life and contribute with your own perspectives and competences.

Employment terms

Salary and terms of employment follow the current collective agreement. We will obtain references as well as child and criminal records before employment. Starting on December 1st or as soon as possible thereafter.
