Set the direction for Sønderborg's largest public school

Do you want to lead a large and well-functioning public school with strong values, high professional standards and a community you can feel?

At Dybbøl School you will have the opportunity to lead a school with around 735 students, 65 teachers, 16 pedagogues and the school's technical and administrative staff. You will become the head of a renovated school with modern teaching environments and a strong academic foundation.

Leadership close to people and the core task

As school principal you have the overall responsibility for the school's operations, development, economy and the working environment.

You set the pedagogical direction and create coherence between visions, political goals and the school's daily life. At the same time you support employees' development and contribute to a professional working environment characterized by trust, dialogue, shared responsibility and strong communities.

You will become part of a strong leadership community

Together with two department heads you will lead the school's development. You will have direct management responsibility for one of the school's departments and you will at the same time be part of a strong school leadership community in Sønderborg Municipality with good opportunities for sparring and collaboration.

We are looking for a school leader who

• has a teacher profession background and teaching experience
• has insight into or experience with leadership in primary education
• can create direction through dialogue, involvement and collaboration
• can balance operations, development and strategic leadership
• has an understanding of economics and resource management
• communicates clearly, respectfully and appreciatively
• remains calm and keeps an overview under pressure and can make clear decisions
• works independently and follows decisions through to the end

Salary and employment

The position is full-time with start on January 1, 2027. Employment is on contract terms. When employed, references as well as a criminal record check and a child-safety certificate are obtained.
