As an occupational therapist you will have the opportunity to work broadly within the geriatric and occupational therapy field. You will be our only occupational therapist , and therefore you will have a great degree of autonomy and the opportunity to make your own professional mark on everyday life.

About the position

Our current occupational therapist goes on maternity leave, and we are therefore looking for an occupational therapist for an 11-month maternity cover , with the possibility of extension depending on the maternity period.

The position is 25 hours per week.

You are self-scheduling within the time frame 7:00-17:00 on weekdays , so you have good opportunities to plan your own workday and week based on tasks and residents' needs.

There may occasionally be a need to participate in evening or weekend shifts. This will naturally be agreed further based on need.

You report directly to the center manager and will be an important part of the interdisciplinary collaboration at Bøgeskovhus.

You will among other things work closely with

• Physiotherapist
• Nurses
• Social and health personnel
• Aarhus Municipality
• Residents and their relatives

Your tasks

You will have a broad palette of occupational therapy tasks, including

• Assessment and evaluation of residents' training and maintenance potential in relation to P-ADL
• Preventive and maintenance training with a rehabilitative approach
• Training in accordance with the old-age act
• Assessment of need for assistive devices and applications for them
• Assessment and training of residents with dysphagia
• Teaching and guidance of staff in, among other things, positioning and transfers in cooperation with the physiotherapist
• Documentation in Cura
• Teaching and professional sparring with staff
• Applications for relevant services in collaboration with the nurses
• Contribute to the development of the rehabilitative approach at Bøgeskovhus

We imagine that you

You are educated as an occupational therapist and have experience with the elderly and preferably geriatrics.

You have a solid occupational therapy-professional background and can work independently with assessment, training, assistive devices and rehabilitation.

It is an advantage if you

• Have experience with dysphagia and preferably additional training in the area
• Have experience with the dementia area
• Have knowledge of welfare technology and/or sensory stimulation
• Have experience with documentation in Cura
• Are keen to teach and convey your expertise to other professional groups
