ABOUT engira (FORMERLY RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPANY)
engira is a startup company in the renewable energy sector, established through a fusion of several leading actors in the sector. With strong institutional backing, engira has an ambitious mission: to accelerate the green transition. The company today has around 170 employees, of whom half work from the head office in Aarhus, and the rest in international offices.
Finance & Accounting department consists of about 50 employees within accounting, controlling and reporting. The Danish accounting team counts six colleagues including the team leader and sits close to colleagues from, among others, controlling. In daily work 15–16 colleagues share professional knowledge in a close and informal environment.
The department is characterized by cross-functional collaboration, a diverse team structure and an ongoing focus on developing financial expertise and digital competences across countries. Further international rollouts of Microsoft Business Central are planned.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an accountant you will take a central role in ensuring continuity and quality in engira's financial function. You will be responsible for a broad portfolio of operational accounting tasks and act as professional support when transactions need to be understood, classified and reconciled. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Finance & Accounting.
The role requires that you enjoy both day-to-day operations and have a strong accounting foundation. You work independently and in a structured manner, follow up on processes and deliverables, and actively contribute to correct and timely reporting.
You will receive a thorough introduction to engira's companies and workflows, but with your experience you should be able to take independent ownership of the tasks. The position can be arranged for 30–37 hours per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rillion: Daily handling of creditor invoices, follow-up on approval flows and ensuring an efficient and correct invoice processing
- FirstCard: Administration of the company's credit card solution, including control, reconciliation and follow-up on credit card transactions
- Expense Management: Administration of the expense and travel reimbursement system, including creation of users, maintenance of master data and handling and follow-up on system-related inquiries
- Bank bookkeeping and reconciliations: Bookkeeping of bank transactions and ongoing ensuring of correct and timely bank reconciliations
- Payroll-related accounting tasks: Posting of payroll entries, reconciliation to e.g. eIncome and follow-up on deviations in payroll files. The actual payroll run is handled by external payroll bookkeepers
- Mileage reporting: Preparation and quality assurance of periodic reports regarding mileage allowances and reporting to the payroll responsible
- VAT reporting: Preparation, control and submission of quarterly and semi-annual VAT in accordance with applicable law and internal procedures
- EU Sales List: Preparation and submission of EU sales lists and ensuring correct reporting of the company's EU-related transactions
- Month-end close: Active participation in the month-close process, including provisions, exchange rate adjustments, balance and intercompany reconciliations across companies, credit review and other closing activities
- Fixed assets: Maintenance of the fixed asset register, including creation of fixed assets, calculation and posting of depreciation, and ongoing control of the fixed asset accounts
- Bank documentation: Quarterly collection and archiving of bank statements from Nordea and ensuring correct documentation for accounting and audit purposes
ABOUT YOU
You have a minimum of five years' experience in accounting and bookkeeping and are used to taking independent responsibility for ongoing accounting tasks. You understand transactions and postings, can identify deviations and are strong in reconciliations, payroll-related accounting tasks and the VAT handling that accompanies an international group.
Your educational path may be a traditional office education with economics, merkonom, finansøkonom or similar, but your practical experience and accounting understanding are decisive.
You must have experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Knowledge of Rillion, FirstCard and Expense Management is not a requirement if you have good system understanding and a willingness to learn.
As a person you are calm, pleasant and collaborative. You are curious, service-minded and motivated by solving problems and improving workflows. You thrive with routine operational tasks, but keep an overview during periods with deadlines and month-end close.
The role provides access to confidential information, and it is therefore essential that you demonstrate judgment and high discretion. You speak and write Danish and can operate in English.
