About the job
Are you structured, action-oriented and good at keeping an overview, even when there are many balls in the air? Do you also have a strong social‑pedagogical profile and a desire to work independently with citizens with complex support needs? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for for our flexible Home Support Team.
About the Home Support Team
The Home Support Team provides social-pedagogical support under the Social Service Act § 85 in citizens' own homes. The support is delivered from 06.00-23.00, seven days a week, and is targeted at citizens with complex challenges who want to live and manage everyday life in their own home.
The target group consists of citizens with varying cognitive functioning levels and diagnoses including autism spectrum disorders as well as comorbid conditions such as ADHD, OCD and anxiety. What the citizens have in common is the need for flexible and often more frequent contact over the week.
You will, in close collaboration with your team, support each citizen in managing their own life and creating development through rehabilitative and habilitative efforts. We work purposefully to strengthen citizens' competencies, resources and skills so that each person can live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
The work takes place in close cooperation with the citizen, authorities and other relevant partners.
Working hours are planned based on the citizens' needs and in close coordination with the team. You must therefore be prepared for flexible working arrangements, where the working hours can be placed in the 06.00-23.00 period on weekdays as well as every 2nd-3rd weekend.
We are looking for someone who takes responsibility and makes things happen
In the Home Support Team, each employee bears a large responsibility for creating structure and progress in daily tasks. Therefore it is crucial for us that you thrive with responsibility, independence and a daily life where you actively help to get things done.
We are seeking a colleague who does not wait for others to take on the task, but who can create an overview, take initiative and follow up when action is needed.
You must be able to structure your own workday while also keeping an eye on the team's total tasks. You can coordinate several simultaneous citizen pathways, appointments and partners without losing overview, and you take responsibility for following up tasks to completion.
That means, among other things, that we place emphasis on you
- work in a structured and systematic way, even when the calendar changes
- take responsibility and ownership of both your own tasks and the team's joint task solving
- be proactive and able to translate professional assessments into concrete action
- can prioritize between multiple simultaneous tasks and maintain an overview when there are many balls in the air
- take initiative, follow up and ensure progress in tasks and citizen pathways
- be good at coordinating with citizens, colleagues, authorities and other partners
- can make professional decisions independently within the agreed framework and at the same time know when to seek sparring
- actively contribute to the team's structure, planning and shared responsibility
- be flexible and solution-oriented when everyday life does not develop as planned.
Your profile
You hold a relevant social or health professional education and preferably solid experience from psychiatry and/or specialized social services.
You have knowledge of recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation and can translate professional concepts and methods into concrete practice together with the citizen.
We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Instead, we expect you to be curious, take responsibility for your own learning and want to continually develop both your own and the team's practice.
We also value that
- you have a relevant professional education, e.g., as a pedagogue, social and health care assistant or perhaps occupational therapist
- you can create professional and development-oriented relationships with citizens
- you can maintain calm and professionalism in complex and pressurized situations
- you are professionally curious, reflect on your own practice and actively contribute to the shared professional development
- you understand working in a politically governed organization
- you have a driving license for a regular car.
We can offer
You will become part of a workplace with an open and direct culture, where there is room for professional sparring, different perspectives and constructive disagreement. We prioritize a good working environment, high professionalism and a strong collegial community.
We offer employee influence, engaged colleagues, present management, external supervision and good opportunities for professional sparring and development.
About the Social Execution Area
The Social Execution Area in Ishøj Municipality consists of three departments that provide specialized interventions within vulnerability, disability and psychiatry. We are about 60 employees and place emphasis on close collaboration, flexibility and professional sparring across teams.
