About the job

Do you want to become an educator at a school in development, with the possibility of creating the framework to work with children and young people who need special support in order to thrive in a learning environment? Then continue reading. The job requires focus on relational work, structure and close collaboration with the class team, and not least with the parents.

About the job

We are looking for an educator with special pedagogical competencies, strong relational skills, and a view of children that matches the school's values. The Inclusion Center has exclusively admitted students who, for various reasons, thrive best in settings with more adults and fewer students. Here you, together with the class team, through joint preparation and a high degree of cooperation, must ensure that our students thrive and learn as well as possible.

At Gørlev School, equal collaboration between teachers and educators is a focus and highly prioritized. It is essential that you can see yourself taking part in joint preparation, implementation and evaluation of pedagogical content. At the same time, the school–home collaboration will naturally be part of your ongoing tasks.

You as a class educator have all your hours located in one of our IC classes. You follow the school’s holiday calendar and therefore, in a full-time position, must have a duty time of about 40 hours per week.

Therefore, you should choose us

Gørlev School has a single-track general school with about 95 students and, in addition, an inclusion center with about 50 students.

With us you will become a colleague of 20 teachers, 15 educators, two secretaries, a technical service manager and a leadership team consisting of deputy heads and a principal. We also have a good collaboration with an active parent association and school board.

Gørlev School has skilled, engaged and motivated staff who primarily teach in their subject areas, and where their professional expertise and judgment are prioritized and lay the foundation for teaching. You can read more about Gørlev School at https://goerlevskole.aula.dk/

At Gørlev School we place emphasis on continuing to raise professionalism and student well-being. We do this through an appreciative approach, and we have started a systematic approach to two adults in the teaching. To support good conditions for this, you will have scheduled meeting time every week in your team. Gørlev School is a place where things happen and changes happen continuously. You will therefore have very good opportunities to contribute with good ideas and proposals for new thinking and development.

In this school year we have a particular focus on increasing our students’ proficiency in Danish and mathematics and ensuring that students move well on to upper secondary education. We do this, among other things, by having a department-divided school, where the teachers in Danish and mathematics become specialists in their target group in 1st–6th grade and 7th–9th grade respectively.

In addition, we have a resource center that, together with the school social worker, SSP, inclusion advisor, PPR consultant and the school’s own guidance counselors and special education teachers, supports the efforts around students facing challenges.

Gørlev School is centrally located in Gørlev Town, and we have good bus connections right to the door. By car you can reach Gørlev School in 30 minutes from Slagelse, Sorø or Kalundborg. From Copenhagen Central Station, the drive takes 1 hour and 15 minutes.

We are proud of Gørlev School because

The school size allows us to create a school with room for differences, inclusivity and respectfulness.

At the school, parents and children meet with respectful professionalism from staff and leadership.

We place emphasis on close parental cooperation.

We value good traditions, such as joint gatherings, camp, theme weeks across classes, subject days and various adjusted days with alternative content.

We conduct many excursions so our students gain experiences of culture, professions and, for example, municipal sports events.

We have good facilities both indoors and outdoors.

We have a close collaboration with the kindergartens Krudthuset and Hobitten.

Employment

The position is available from 1.12.2026. Before employment, criminal record and child protection checks are obtained. Relevant references will also be obtained by agreement and employment is offered according to the applicable collective agreement.
