About the job

In Vejle Municipality we are seeking a relationship-building, translating and technology-literate IT Business Architect to facilitate the interaction between the IT department and the business for a fixed-term position of 3 years.

About the job

Our IT architects are busy, and several are tied up in longer-term projects, which is why we are looking for a new colleague in a 3-year fixed-term position. So if you thrive at the intersection of IT and business, gain energy from a diverse task portfolio and at the same time focus on creating value for your stakeholders' needs, you could be our new IT business architect.

On a day-to-day basis you will be part of our business-facing architecture team, a total of 6 people in the IT department, whose task is to ensure the correct IT support decentralised in the administrations. The team consists of four business architects, one project manager, one analytics and controller consultant and hopefully soon you. The team possesses high professional standards, great drive and motivation to make a difference for both employees and citizens in Vejle Municipality, and is characterised by a professional and technological approach to task solving.

In the role you will act as the link between the business and IT, where you will primarily be responsible for ensuring constructive dialogue and collaboration with the six administrations in Vejle Municipality. You must be able to inspire, translate and interpret the administrations' wishes and needs into concrete IT solutions and propose the correct technological use when it makes sense for the task.

It is also essential that you can maintain the architectural overview when administrations want to procure and implement large, as well as small, IT solutions. You must translate good IT requirements and governance into practical solutions that work in daily life, while also ensuring stable supplier management.

On a daily basis you will have great influence on how the role is performed and how the tasks are carried out. The most important thing is that you are a good sparring partner and colleague with sound human values, who can put yourself in the business’ shoes and understand the daily challenges. You must ensure that tasks are carried into the IT department and subsequently returned to the administrations again when they are resolved.

Start date 1 December 2026.

We expect from you

  • That you can engage in dialogue with the business, understand their needs, and help propose solutions that activate existing governance, and that you can also see the need for new systems, components or the use of new technology.
  • That you can be the link between the IT department and the business, bring project ideas into IT and translate wishes and strategies into concrete initiatives.
  • That you have insight and interest in new technologies and how these technologies influence the future municipality.
  • That you can manage processes and/or lead projects, and create an overview of complex solutions and technologies.
  • That you are willing to help present the IT department’s news and projects to the rest of the organisation at selected forums, where you must be able to communicate clearly, plainly and practically.
  • That you can translate and interpret technical concepts and explanations into easy-to-understand decision proposals for employees and partners for whom IT is not their primary language.
  • That you can find peace in having a varied and changing portfolio of tasks, which most often must be solved within a relatively short time frame.

About you and your background

You may have experience completing either strategic or architectural tasks in a larger municipal or other politically governed organisation. But you can also be a recent graduate with the appetite to learn the municipal sector and make your mark on the future of Vejle Municipality.

The most important is your ability to ensure coherence and follow up on tasks and projects. The rest we can teach you.

We expect that you

  • Are independent, outgoing and proactive – and understand how to navigate the intersection between the business’ wishes and needs and the goal of efficient operations.
  • Are tenacious, and hold on to tasks so no cases are dropped.
  • Are naturally curious and thrive in a large organisation, characterised by an open and positive attitude to the world around you.
  • Have a strong motivation to learn new things and technologies.
  • Thrive in a daily life with a high tempo, where you quickly switch between tasks.
  • Are collaborative and a strong team player.

We do not weigh your educational background too heavily, but more your personality and the energy you bring. Your education may therefore be varied, for example a longer postgraduate education such as cand.it, cand.mag, cand.scient, data-Scientist, data technician or similar.

However, the most important is that your education has to some degree been supplemented with IT.

We offer you

  • Denmark’s 5th largest municipality, where the basic conditions are in order.
  • A family-friendly workplace with good colleagues in an informal and relaxed environment.
  • Great flexibility both professionally and personally with the possibility of remote work days.
  • Good development and continuing education opportunities both professionally and personally.
  • Opportunity to work with a wide palette of technologies, products and platforms.
  • A good social environment with ongoing social and professional events.
