About the job
In Vejle Municipality we are looking for a relationship-building, translating and technology-aware IT Business Architect for the interaction between the IT department and the business.
About the job
Our IT architects are busy, and several are tied up in longer-term projects, which is why we are seeking a new colleague in a fixed-term position of 3 years. So if you thrive in the intersection between IT and business, derive energy from a diverse portfolio of tasks and at the same time focus on creating value for the needs of your stakeholders, you could be our new IT Business Architect.
On a day-to-day basis you will become part of our business-facing architect team totaling 6 people in the IT department, whose task is to ensure the correct IT support decentrally in the departments. The team consists of four business architects, one project manager, one analysis and control consultant and hopefully soon you. The team possesses a high level of expertise, great drive and motivation to make a difference for both employees and citizens in Vejle Municipality, and is characterized by a professional and technological approach to problem solving.
In the role you will act as the link between the business and IT, where you will primarily be responsible for ensuring a constructive dialogue and collaboration with the six departments in Vejle Municipality. You must be able to inspire, translate and interpret the departments’ wishes and needs into concrete IT solutions and suggest the correct technological use when it makes sense for the task.
It is also essential that you can maintain the architectural overview when the departments want to procure and implement large and small IT solutions. You must translate good IT requirements and governance into practical solutions that work in daily life, but also ensure stable supplier management.
On a day-to-day basis you will have a strong influence on how the role is filled and how tasks are carried out. The most important thing is that you are a good sparring partner and colleague with sound human values, who can put yourself in the business’ position and understand the daily challenges. You must ensure that tasks are carried into the IT department and subsequently back to the departments again when these are resolved.
Start date 1 December 2026.
We expect from you
- That you can engage in dialogue with the business, understand their needs, and help propose solutions that leverage existing governance, as well as recognize the need for new systems, components or the use of new technology.
- That you can be the link between the IT department and the business, bring project ideas into IT and translate wishes and strategies into concrete initiatives.
- That you have insight and interest in new technologies and how these technologies influence the future municipality.
- That you can manage processes and/or project manage, and be able to create an overview of complex solutions and technologies.
- That you are willing to present the IT department’s news and projects to the rest of the organization at selected forums, where you must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and practically.
- That you can translate and interpret technical terms and explanations into easily understandable decision briefs for employees and partners where IT is not their primary language.
- That you can find calm in having a varied and shifting task portfolio, which often must be solved within a relatively short time frame.
About you and your background
You may have experience with carrying out either strategic or architectural tasks in a larger municipal or other politically governed organization. But you may also be a recent graduate with a willingness to learn the municipal sector and put your own mark on the future of Vejle Municipality.
The most important is your ability to secure coherence and follow-up on tasks and projects. The rest we will teach you.
We expect that you
- Are independent, outgoing and proactive – and understand how to navigate the intersection between business desires and needs and the goal of efficient operations.
- Are steadfast, and hold on to tasks so that no cases are dropped.
- Are naturally curious and thrive in a large organization, characterized by an open and positive attitude to the world around you.
- Have a strong motivation to learn new things and technologies.
- Thrive in a fast-paced daily life, where you quickly switch between tasks.
- Are collaborative and a strong team player.
We do not place too much emphasis on your educational background, but rather on you as a person and the energy you bring. Your education can therefore be diverse, for example a longer higher education such as cand.it, cand.mag, cand.scient, datalog, datamatiker or similar.
However, the most important is that your education to some extent has been supplemented with IT.
We offer you
- Denmark’s 5th largest municipality, where the basic conditions are in order.
- A family-friendly workplace with good colleagues in an informal and relaxed environment.
- Great flexibility both professionally and personally with the possibility of home office days.
- Good development and continuing education opportunities both professionally and personally.
- Opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies, products and platforms.
- A good social environment with ongoing social and professional events.
