About the role

As a construction manager at Skive Vand you follow the civil engineering projects closely in the execution phase. Your days will alternate between office days and construction sites, where you manage the running of construction meetings, supervise and follow up that the contractors deliver as agreed.

You take responsibility for a portfolio of projects, where you keep overview of progress, quality, documentation and finances. This means you must be able to stand on site and take the concrete dialogue with the contractor and subsequently sit down, review invoices, dispatch notes, weighing slips etc. with a critical and analytical eye.

A key part of the role is to ensure that the project economy during the execution phase hangs together. You must be able to spot deviations, understand where ambiguities can arise, and stand firm when something doesn’t hold. It should be done in a proper and professional manner, where you protect the project and the relationship to the partners.

As a construction manager at Skive Vand, you will, among other things, work with

• Holding construction meetings and following up on progress
• Dialogue about execution methods with contractors when reality and detail design meet to ensure high quality and longevity of our facilities
• Securing financial overview in the execution phase so the projects are completed at the right price

There may also be opportunities to contribute to a more cross-cutting coordination of civil engineering projects, for example around schedules and overall finances for the department's project portfolio. If you have an interest in structure, data, digitalization or tools like Power BI, that would be an advantage – but the most important is that you have the desire and ability to create overview and make things happen.

Who are you?

You have experience from civil engineering projects, preferably from the contractor side, and you know what it takes to make the execution work in practice. You are motivated by being close to the construction site, following up on details and ensuring that the project moves in the right direction.

You have an eye for detail without losing the overview. When an invoice, a dispatch note or a quantity survey doesn’t make sense, you investigate it. Not to create conflict, but because you take responsibility for the project and know that the finances in the construction phase require attention.

At the same time you can operate among contractors. You speak politely with people, but you are not afraid to be clear when something needs to be corrected. You have a natural calm and persuasiveness that makes others listen - even when the message is that something is not good enough.

You will fit well in the role if you

• Have experience with construction management, contract management or project management within civil engineering

• Can understand quantities, invoices and documentation with a critical eye
• Are clear, proper and persistent in dialogue with contractors
