About the job
We are busy! In fact, so busy that the Council has set aside a budget to hire more town planners
Skanderborg Municipality is growing, and there is high demand for new local plans. Therefore we are looking for three town planners who want to help turn visions into reality and create the framework for the future's most beautiful municipality.
You will be part of realizing the Council's vision “People meet people – in Denmark's most beautiful municipality.” The vision commits us to thinking sustainably and strategically in local planning – in close dialogue with developers and citizens. The main emphasis of your tasks will be local planning. You will work with the entire local planning process from the initial discussions until a plan is finally adopted. You will also contribute to the further development of the way we prepare local plans – and it is therefore important that you find working with the “local plan tool” interesting.
We solve tasks with a holistic approach. We therefore place great emphasis on our collaboration with other professional groups internally in the municipality and externally with consultants, advisers and citizens.
The Council has adopted an Architecture Policy, which – just like the Climate Policy – is central in the preparation of local plans in the municipality. At present, the Council is also developing a green mobility policy, which will have significance for future local plans.
In Planning and Urban Development we place great weight on a good work culture and close collegiate collaboration. To support this, we have jointly developed and actively work with our guiding principles, which are:
- professionalism and Identity
- role distribution and Expectations
- community and Job satisfaction
We offer
You will, together with 12 colleagues, join the Planning and Urban Development department, which is part of Planning, Technology and Environment. We can offer you as an workplace and colleagues
- a development-oriented work environment and a creative approach to architecture and planning
- professionally strong collegiality, where we are passionate about creating quality with our planning
- collegial sparring and support in task solving, whether you are a recent graduate, have limited or extensive experience with local planning
- high ambitions for sustainable urban development and a strong focus on achieving our climate goals
- professionally challenging tasks with different types of local plans, and
- an informal tone and contagious good mood in daily work.
Your professional and personal profile
Professionally you are
- a relevant education – with a strong interest and preferably good experience in physical planning
- completely familiar with the Planning Act and preferably the Environmental Impact Assessment Act
- a skilled project manager who can create momentum in larger and often complicated cross-disciplinary projects with many stakeholders
- motivated by cross-disciplinary collaboration – both within the field and across the organization with a holistic approach to task solving
- persistent in achieving results through negotiation, cooperation and dialogue with investors, developers and local citizens, and
- a strong communicator in writing and speech.
As a person you are
- development-oriented and curious about planning
- empathetic and approachable
- independent, but good at seeking help and sparring from your colleagues
- a competent partner in a good dialogue with both developers and citizens
- efficient, solution-oriented and takes initiative, and
- a conscious and result-oriented negotiator.
