C4 Technician for Maintenance Area Ground-Based Air Defense

You will be among the first C4 technicians in Denmark to build national expertise to independently maintain one of the world's most advanced land-based air defense systems. About us

You will join the Land-based Air Defence Maintenance Area, East, which is geographically located at Skalstrup Air Station near Roskilde.

The Land-based Air Defence Maintenance Area is organizationally part of the Defence Maintenance Service. Our core task is to ensure efficient maintenance that guarantees operational deployability through strong competences and direct dialogue. We take great pride in ensuring credibility. The work may include

In addition, you will work with troubleshooting, technical analysis and repair of IT and communication systems. You thrive on performing installing, configuring, upgrading, testing, approving and commissioning networks, servers and communication systems.

You have the ability to perform preventive maintenance as well as the preparation of technical documentation and procedures while participating in technical projects, modifications and system upgrades.

You have good communication and presentation skills and you can provide support and technical assistance to internal and external partners, including collaboration with national and international partners.

About you

We imagine that you come from a similar position, where you have built a technically strong understanding and have great interest and desire to work with advanced IT, servers, networks and communication systems.

You have an educational background as a data technician, electronics mechanic, electronics technician, radio technician or other relevant background.

You may have gained knowledge through your professional experience in several of the following areas:

• Network analysis, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of digital and IT infrastructure.
• Installation, testing and commissioning of technical equipment.
• Networks and IT infrastructure, CCNA, CCNP, VLAN, QoS, VPN, multicast, routing, switching, TCP/IP, IP4/IP6).
• Cyber security, ethical hacking and securing of networks.
• Programming and scripting, e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash or C/C++.
• Fiber optic installations and circuit understanding.
• Server and virtualization environments, VMware/Hyper-V, Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux Server, Red Hat or other software.
• Tactical communication systems.
• Technical documentation, diagrams and maintenance manuals.
• Development of Preventive maintenance and systematic documentation.

Employment terms

The position is advertised as military and civilian

You will be employed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement at any given time.

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is a possibility of negotiation of allowances. There is a employer-financed pension scheme linked to the position.

The workplace is at Skalstrup Air Station, near Roskilde

As an employee under the Defence Ministry’s area, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

You have an obligation as an employee to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-making, humanitarian and other similar operations.

About the Defence Maintenance Service

The Defence Maintenance Service is a quality management and occupational safety conscious service organization that maintains, repairs and modifies Defence materiel. A part of the organization is ISO and occupational safety certified today, which is expected to be expanded to the entire organization. The agency employs about 1,700 people.

The Defence Maintenance Service consists of a Maintenance Division with six maintenance areas distributed geographically across the country, and a Planning and Coordination Division located in Brabrand. The six Maintenance Areas are specialized in repairing, maintaining and modifying specific materiel systems within their professional pillar.

The Planning and Coordination Division consists of a Business Department and an Operations Department, which handle coordinating planning, training, management, controlling and development of the Defence Maintenance Service. In addition to repairing and maintaining the Defence’s materiel, the Defence Maintenance Service supports Defence operations and missions with well-trained military technical personnel who are loaned to Defence units according to agreed planning or ad hoc in special cases.
