About the job

Become our new self-driven employee in Roads and Parks

Do you like freedom with responsibility, and do you take pride in delivering a fine piece of craftsmanship? Do you thrive planning your own day, solving tasks independently and at the same time being part of a strong community? Then you might be the new employee we are looking for for our grey area in Roads and Parks.

We have created a new position with a particular focus on improving traffic safety and accessibility on the municipality's sidewalks and roads. You will get your own car, your own tasks and great freedom to plan your everyday life in collaboration with your operations manager.

We offer

You will become part of Roads and Parks, where we work in a flat organization with short decision paths, great trust and a good collegial camaraderie. We solve many different tasks, and with us no day is completely the same.

Your primary tasks will include

  • Repair of minor paving damages on sidewalks, paths and squares.
  • Repair of potholes in roads and sidewalks.
  • Minor asphalt repairs and urgent damages.
  • Digital tasks and registration via Geonote and tablet/phone.
  • Contribute to other operational tasks as needed.
  • Participation in winter service.

You will in daily work most often work alone and drive directly to the tasks sent to your phone or tablet. When bigger tasks need to be solved, you become part of a team together with your colleagues.

We also offer

  • Freedom under responsibility and great autonomy.
  • Your own car and your own tasks.
  • A workplace with room to grow and a good mood.
  • Skilled colleagues and a management that backs you up.
  • Possibility of flexibility through our flexitime arrangement.
  • A daily life where you can see the result of your work in the public space.

The position is initially 37 hours per week with working hours Monday to Thursday 07:30-15:30 and Friday 07:30-12:30. In the winter season there may be changed working hours and on-call during winter service in the time window 04:00-23:00.

We are looking for

You have a practical background and experience with paving, construction work or similar tasks. You do not necessarily have to be a trained paving contractor, but you know how a proper job should be carried out.

We emphasize that you

  • Can distinguish between a chaussestone and a cobblestone – and know how they are laid correctly.
  • Have experience with paving work or similar practical tasks.
  • Preferably have experience with asphalt repairs or be keen to learn it.
  • Work independently and take responsibility for your tasks.
  • Have a sense of quality and be proud of your craftsmanship.
  • Thrive with digital tools and can use a phone or tablet for registration and documentation.
  • Are flexible and help where the need arises.
  • Can keep an overview, even when plans change.

In addition we expect that you

  • Have a category B and BE driving license.
  • Preferably have a category C or CE driving license.
  • Have completed the course "The Road as a Workplace" or are willing to take the course as soon as possible.
  • Live as close as possible to Sorø so you can respond within 30 minutes during winter on-call.
