About the job

Would you be our new nurse at Vorup Nursing Home?

At Vorup Nursing Home, we are looking for an engaged nurse who wants to become an important part of our daily life, professional community, and collegiality.

We are looking for you who are passionate about working with elderly people, and who can both see the person behind illness, functional impairment and care needs – and at the same time actively bring your nursing expertise into play.

The position can be with a fixed evening shift or a combination of day and evening shifts. We want to find a solution that suits you and us well, and the work scheduling is therefore agreed in dialogue with you.

Start date: December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible.

We’re a team

At Vorup Nursing Home we believe that caregiving is a team effort, and that professionalism is our collective strength.

We work from a value-based view of humanity, where the individual resident’s life, wishes, needs and self-determination are the driving force of our work. For us, good care is not only about solving concrete tasks, but about creating security, continuity and quality of life through relationships, presence and respect.

As a nurse with us, you will be part of the overall effort around the residents. You must be able to see the connection between the residents’ physical, psychological and social needs and at the same time apply your nursing knowledge to ensure quality, continuity and coherence in care and treatment.

You will play a central role in the nursing assessment of residents’ needs. This includes, among other things, observing, identifying changes in the resident’s condition, performing clinical assessments, prioritizing and initiating relevant nursing interventions and following up on the effect.

You must be able to handle complex and unforeseen issues and know when to involve relevant partners or other health care professionals.

Professionalism must be shared

We believe that professionalism becomes stronger when it is shared.

Therefore you also take on an important role in supporting and developing the professional practice in everyday life. As a nurse on an evening shift, when selected for the task, you will have a special function regarding competency development and professional sparring with colleagues in the evening shift. This is done in close collaboration with the ward nurse.

You should be willing to share your knowledge, guide and mentor your colleagues and contribute to them feeling secure in their professional assessments and task execution.

At the same time, we expect you to be curious about others’ experiences and perspectives. We see professional development as something we create together.

You don’t need to have all the answers – but you should be eager to help find them together.

Clinical assessments and triage

As a nurse you are an important part of our work in identifying changes in residents’ health and responding promptly.

You must therefore be sharp in clinical observations and triage and be able to assess when a resident’s condition requires a nursing intervention, a change in the plan of care or contact with, for example, a doctor, emergency services or other relevant partners.

The goal is that residents receive the right intervention at the right time, and that changes in their condition are detected and managed as early as possible.

A work life where we also must be able to endure being

We take our work seriously. But we also believe that you must be able to endure going to work.

We have a culture where we help each other when daily life is busy, and where there is room to speak openly about how you feel.

For us, humor, helpfulness and decency are not opposites to high professionalism. We believe that a good working environment and strong relationships between colleagues help create the best conditions for both residents and staff.

We want a workplace where we can be professional, ambitious and humane – and where we take care of each other while taking care of our residents.

We imagine that you

  • are a trained nurse and eager to work with elderly people
  • have strong nursing competencies and can translate your knowledge into practice
  • have an interest in or experience with competency development and professional guidance
  • as part of the evening shift can contribute to competency development and professional sparring in close collaboration with the ward nurse
  • are confident in your clinical observations and assessments and have an eye for changes in residents’ health status
  • are sharp at triage and can prioritize and act based on a nursing assessment
  • can identify complex issues and assess when there is a need to involve other professional groups or partners
  • thrive with holistic care where relationships, presence, continuity and professionalism go hand in hand
  • can work independently while also seeing the value of being part of a shared professional team
  • can clearly and appreciatively convey your professional expertise to create security and support your colleagues’ work
  • have awareness of when you should act yourself and when it’s important to seek sparring and involve others
  • want to take responsibility for nursing professional development and contribute to quality and patient safety
  • work systematically and have an eye for documentation, follow-up and continuity of the effort
  • are curious and willing to ask questions about our routines and workflows when it can improve quality
  • can maintain an overview and see opportunities and solutions even when daily life is busy
  • actively contribute to a good working environment and a strong sense of collegiality
  • have a sense of humor and can see the value in also having a good time together at work.

Would you like to be part of the team?

If you can see yourself in a nursing home where residents’ lives, self-determination and dignity are central, where professionalism should be palpable in everyday life, and where we take care of each other, we would love to hear from you.

We would also very much like to meet you before you decide.

You are therefore welcome to drop by for a coffee and a tour. Here you can meet us, feel the atmosphere and gain insight into daily life at Vorup Nursing Home.

The position: Nurse, as a rule 37 hours per week. If you would like a different number of hours, we are open to dialogue.

Working hours: Fixed evening shift or a combination of day and evening shifts – to be agreed in dialogue with you.

Weekend shifts: Every 2nd or every 3rd weekend with an extra weekend shift in a 12-week period.

Start date: December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible.

Application deadline: October 22, 2026.
