The property company Olav de Linde is seeking a trained carpenter who will both work with the tool in hand and take responsibility that the carpentry work on our construction sites is well prepared and can be carried out properly.

Can you both see the solution and get a handle on what it takes to carry it out?

With us you will work with renovation, maintenance and specialized tasks in existing properties in Aarhus. Many of our buildings are former industrial and commercial properties, which we transform and give new functions rather than demolish. It often requires solutions tailored to the individual building.

You will become part of our craft department and get a combined role as executing carpenter and foreman on carpentry tasks .

You will still perform carpentry work yourself, but you will also have responsibility for being proactive with the tasks. You visit the construction sites, review upcoming work and ensure, among other things, measurement and ordering of the materials to be used.

This may include, for example, floors, windows and ceilings. Therefore it is important that you can read and understand drawings and translate them into the practical work on site.

Your tasks

• Executing carpentry work within renovation and maintenance
• Foreman responsibility on our carpentry tasks
• Inspection and review of upcoming tasks on the construction sites
• Measuring for, among other things, floors, windows, ceilings and other building parts
• Planning and ordering of materials
• Reading and understanding drawings
• Coordination of the carpentry work, so tasks and materials are ready at the right time
• Collaboration with our other craftspeople and construction managers

About you

You are a trained carpenter with solid practical experience. You do not necessarily need to come from a foreman position today, but you should be willing and able to take greater responsibility for the tasks around the executing work.

We especially emphasize that you

• Have good drawing interpretation
• Are confident in measurement and can assess material requirements
• Can plan your own and others' work
• Have an overview and follow up on the agreements made
• Have a sense for quality and details
• Can see practical solutions in existing buildings where not everything necessarily fits standard dimensions
• Communicate well with both tradespeople and construction managers
• Still want to be the executing carpenter yourself

You should, in other words, be able to step onto a construction site, gain an overview of the task and help ensure that the carpentry crew has the right foundation and the right materials to move forward.
