Are you a nurse who wants time to delve into nursing care for the elderly citizen in a day and weekend shift every 9th weekend?

As one of our Center Nurses becomes Development Nurse, we want a replacement for her.

Increased complexity in citizen pathways, earlier discharges, more citizens with dementia and task-shifting from the hospitals call for us to maintain a continuous focus on raising quality through competence development in daily operations so that our citizens receive the help, care and nursing they need, and the employees feel safe and thrive in carrying out their tasks. At Hvissinge Elderly Center we have therefore prioritized having a Center Nurse in each of our 3 departments during the day.

As a Center Nurse you will have close collaboration with our two other Center Nurses, department heads and the Elderly Center Manager. All nurses. You will be surrounded by good colleagues, both in-house and across the Health and Welfare Center, who all share the goal of jointly providing a high professional standard with the residents’ wishes and daily life at the center. There will also be collaboration with our Development Nurses, Quality and Improvement Consultant, the municipality's other Center Nurses and the education consultant for students.

You will primarily be based in a department with 22 residents, the majority of whom have a dementia disease. You must be visible and easily accessible to the staff, but as a Center Nurse you are also supported across the house.

In your workweek and on about 1 holiday per year you will perform nursing tasks across the three elderly centers in Glostrup. The position is on-call free, but you may occasionally have to meet with evening or night shifts.

Center Nurse tasks/responsibilities

• Help break down the complex tasks in care and nursing, create structure and overview in daily life on the departments, find practical solutions and bring your colleagues’ professional skills into play.
• Active role in residents’ nursing care and in ensuring cohesive pathways for the individual resident.
• Have the nursing professional responsibility on the department
• Participate in a nursing professional collaboration with the residents’ doctors, the other nurses, social and health care assistants and social and health care helpers
• Coordinate nursing professional tasks in collaboration with the team and ensure high quality in the execution of observations and nursing, including medication administration and nursing documentation
• Supervising nursing students
• Case handler of UTH on own department

We are looking for a nurse who

• Ideally has broad clinical experience, including preferably being a clinical supervisor
• Works independently, flexibly and in a structured way
• Is patient and development-oriented and can inspire and motivate a broadly composed employee group
• Is passionate about nursing and about being in close dialogue with the staff and teaching others
• Is trust-building and has the courage to challenge staff constructively and professionally in carrying out their work.
• Has good pedagogical skills and can give constructive feedback

Who are we?

Hvissinge Elderly Center is a lively house with three care departments and a total of 69 residents. We also have a day center, dementia day center and our own production kitchen with meal service for the municipality’s home-dwelling elderly.

We are a house with different professional specialisms, including dementia, acquired brain injury, mental illness, neurological diseases and other somatic diseases. At the same time we emphasize that the house functions as one cohesive unit, where we collaborate across and help each other.

With us there is room for both traditions and innovation. We work with early detection, triage, resident conferences and principles from the Dementia Road Team and VISO. We focus on competence development through education, professional sparring and delegation.

The position is 30-35 hours/week to be filled as soon as possible.

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the current collective agreement with the relevant professional organization. A fixed functional allowance will be paid for being a Center Nurse.
