Are you a nurse who wants time to delve into nursing care for the elderly citizen in a day shift and weekend position every 9th weekend?

As one of our Center Nurses is becoming a Development Nurse, we are seeking a replacement for her.

An increased complexity in citizen pathways, prior discharges, more citizens with dementia and task drift from hospitals call for us to maintain a continuous focus on raising the quality through competence development in daily operations so that our citizens receive the help, care and nursing they need, and the staff feel safe and thrive in their work. At Hvissinge Elderly Center we have therefore prioritized having a Center Nurse in each of our 3 wards during the day.

As a Center Nurse you will have close collaboration with our two other Center Nurses, the ward managers and the Elderly Center Manager. All nurses. You will be surrounded by good colleagues, both in the house and across the Center for Health and Welfare, who all share the goal that we together provide a high professional effort with residents' wishes and everyday life at the center. There will also be collaboration with our Development Nurses, the Quality and Improvement Consultant, the municipality’s other Center Nurses and the education consultant for the students.

You will primarily be based on a ward with 22 residents, most of whom have dementia. You must be visible and easily accessible to the staff, but as a Center Nurse you are also supported across the building.

During your work weekend and approximately 1 public holiday per year you will perform nursing tasks across the three elderly centers in Glostrup. The position is shift-free, but you will occasionally need to meet with evening or night shifts.

Center Nurse tasks/responsibilities

• Help break down the complex tasks in care and nursing, create structure and overview in daily life on the wards, find solutions in practice and bring your colleagues’ professional expertise into play.
• Active role in residents' nursing care and ensuring cohesive pathways for the individual resident.
• Has the professional nursing responsibility on the ward
• Engage in professional nursing collaboration with the residents' doctors, the other nurses, social and health care assistants and social and health care helpers
• Coordinate nursing tasks in collaboration with the team and ensure high quality in the performance of observations and nursing, including medication administration and nursing documentation
• Mentor for nursing students
• Case handler of UTH on own ward

We are looking for a nurse who

• Has broad clinical experience, including preferably being a clinical supervisor
• Works independently, flexibly and in a structured way
• Is patient and development-oriented and can inspire and motivate a broadly composed staff group
• Is passionate about nursing and about being in close dialogue with staff and teaching others
• Is trustworthy and has the courage to challenge staff constructively and professionally in carrying out their work.
• Has good pedagogical skills and can give constructive feedback

Who are we?

Hvissinge Elderly Center is a lively house with three care wards and a total of 69 residents. We also have a day center, a dementia daycare center and our own production kitchen with meal service for the municipality’s home-dwelling elderly.

We are a house with various professional specialities, including dementia, acquired brain injury, mental illness, neurological diseases and other somatic diseases. At the same time we emphasize that the house functions as one unified unit, where we collaborate across and help each other.

With us there is room for both traditions and innovation. We work with early detection, triage, resident conferences and principles from the Dementia Task Force and VISO. We focus on competence development through education, professional sparring and delegation.

The position is 30-35 hours/week to be filled as soon as possible.

Salary and employment terms will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the relevant trade union. A fixed functional increment is granted for being a Center Nurse.
