About the job
Do you want responsibility, professional influence and a work life that also has to fit with life outside the job?
At Virumgård Nursing Home, we are looking for an experienced and engaged nurse who wants to become our nursing professional key person in the evening shift. With us you get an important and independent role where you every evening help ensure high professionalism, patient safety and security for our 116 residents.
But we don’t only take care of the residents.
We believe that a good work life is about more than professionalism. It is also about good colleagues, trust, flexibility, job satisfaction and being able to go home from work with the feeling that you have made a difference.
Here you get both professional responsibility and good colleagues
As responsible evening nurse you will be the professional front person at Virumgård Nursing Home in the evenings. You create an overview, make nursing professional decisions and are the one colleagues can go to when a resident’s condition changes, or when a situation requires extra professional assessment.
You will not be alone.
We place great emphasis on professional sparring, helpfulness and good collegiality, and you will be part of a strong nursing professional community with close collaboration across day, evening and night shifts. We have a culture where it is natural to ask each other for advice, share knowledge and help each other.
Your role in the evening shift
You work in a 5-2 arrangement together with our other evening nurse and you will have a central role in creating calm, structure and professional quality in the evening shift.
You will, among other things
- Make nursing professional assessments in acute illness and changes in residents’ condition.
- Create an overview and prioritize the evening shift’s tasks.
- Be a professional sparring partner for your colleagues.
- Support colleagues in complex nursing professional situations.
- Handle acute medication and other acute nursing tasks.
- Ensure quality, patient safety and correct documentation.
- Coordinate with doctors, hospitals and other partners.
- Have dialogue with residents and relatives when situations require extra professionalism and presence.
- Follow up on and evaluate care and treatment processes.
- Contribute to the development of nursing together with the ward nurses, development nurse and management.
The most important thing is that you can remain calm, create an overview and use your professional expertise when something unexpected arises.
A nursing home where residents’ home comes first
Virumgård is home to 116 residents spread across three departments. Two medical departments and one dementia unit. We work from a person-centered approach, where the individual resident’s life, wishes, habits and dignity are the starting point for our work. For us, high professionalism is not just about procedures and documentation. It is most of all about seeing the whole person, creating security and having a sense of what matters to the individual.
We believe in a balanced work life
We want to be a workplace where you can see yourself enjoying going to work, also in the long term. We prioritize balance between work life and private life. We believe that you should be able to be engaged in your work and still have energy for life outside the workplace. We place a strong emphasis on flexibility in shift planning, good collegiality where we help each other, share our knowledge and have room for both professionalism, humor and humanity.
We want a work environment where you feel respected, heard and as an important part of the community. At the same time you will have the opportunity to use your competences, develop yourself and have influence on the nursing we provide.
We imagine that you
- Are a licensed nurse.
- Have experience from the elderly care area, the medical area, the acute area or equivalent.
- Have strong clinical competences and can make well-founded nursing professional decisions.
- Thrive with independent responsibility and can maintain an overview when the situation changes.
- Are curious and want to develop both yourself and nursing practice.
- Are clear, acknowledging and present in your communication.
- Want to be a professional resource for your colleagues.
- Value strong cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Actively contribute to a good working environment and community.
- Have experience with Cura.
Maybe you are already the responsible nurse. Maybe you want to take the next step in your professional development. The most important thing for us is that you want to take responsibility and help create a good and professionally strong evening shift team.
You get with us
- An independent and meaningful nursing professional key function.
- Opportunity to use and develop your clinical competencies.
- Skilled and engaged colleagues who help each other.
- A close collaboration with ward nurses, development nurse and management.
- A thorough introduction to Virumgård, the residents and your tasks.
- Good opportunities for competence development.
- Influence on the development of nursing.
- A workplace focused on professionalism, integrity, job satisfaction and a good work environment.
- A attractive location close to Sorgenfri Station, green areas and Lyngby, with good transport options and a pleasant local community.
