Chief Accountant – Take Ownership of Finance in an International Company

At Continental, we are looking for a skilled and proactive Chief Accountant to take ownership of our accounting activities in Denmark.

Your role – responsibility, variety and influence

As our new Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance and well-structured accounting processes in Denmark.

You will have a high degree of independence while being part of a supportive Nordic finance community, where knowledge sharing, collaboration and continuous improvement are key.

Your main responsibilities will include

• Managing the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Handling VAT, tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Preparing monthly closings, forecasts and annual budgets in accordance with IFRS and corporate guidelines.
• Preparing annual financial statements and coordinating audits.
• Driving improvements in accounting processes, internal controls and digitalisation.
• Collaborating with colleagues across Denmark and the Nordic organisation.

Who are you?

We imagine that you are an experienced accounting professional who combines strong technical skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.

You enjoy taking ownership, working with details and identifying opportunities to improve the way things are done.

We are looking for someone who has

• At least 5 years of experience with end-to-end accounting, including tax.
• A relevant educational background in accounting, finance or business administration.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting, accounting procedures and systems.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills. If you are familiar with SAP its an advantage
• Good communication skills and fluency in Danish and English.
