About the job
Would you like to be the accounting professional beacon in one of Denmark's most exciting financial organizations with a strong societal impact? And are you motivated by combining high professional standards with the opportunity to create stronger processes, strengthen governance, and actively contribute to an organization in development?
About the position
As Chief Financial Controller you will be a central part of Finance, responsible for quality assurance of numbers and financial reporting for both EIFO as a group and for the many managed entities and schemes that are administered on behalf of the Ministry of Industry.
You will play a key role in ensuring coherence and high accounting quality in financial processes across all business areas - and as the professional beacon you will actively contribute to the continued development and professionalization of the accounting area. Therefore you should be eager to continuously strengthen and develop processes, workflows, and control environments in an organization that is still evolving after the merger of three organizations/funds to establish the common EIFO in 2023.
Your tasks will include
- Advising and sparring on complex accounting issues, e.g., in connection with new initiatives and transactions, and preparation of financial reporting.
- Further development and optimization of accounting processes in accordance with applicable accounting standards and legislation.
- Preparation and quality assurance of accounts for the EIFO group and subsidiaries.
- Contribute to ensuring a solid and effective control environment in connection with monthly and annual closings.
To succeed in the role you must have a deep understanding of accounting rules and be able to navigate safely in complex financial contexts. You are motivated to dive into paragraphs and principles and function as a trusted professional sparring partner for colleagues who turn to you when they need a sound professional assessment. At the same time you understand how to translate your accounting expertise into solutions that create value in EIFO's complex reality, where business, regulatory, and societal considerations often need to be balanced.
You have a natural sense of where your efforts create the most value and can prioritize your time and professional sparring where it makes the biggest difference for EIFO. A clear success criterion is your pragmatic and solution-oriented approach combined with the ability to achieve results through collaboration across the organization.
About you
Your educational background is cand.merc.aud. or alternatively HD-R. At the same time you have a solid accounting toolkit and thrive as the person others turn to when rules, standards, and complex issues must be translated into practical solutions.
We imagine that you
- Have solid experience in the accounting area.
- Have experience directly from financial companies or from the Big4, where you have been part of Financial Services either as a consultant or as an auditor.
- Have in-depth knowledge of applicable laws and accounting standards (ÅRL and preferably IFRS9).
- Are academically strong, but at the same time pragmatic and solution-oriented.
- Are a good collaborator who builds relationships and engagement around you.
What we offer – a clear purpose and attractive terms
At EIFO you work for the future of Danish business life – and you have the opportunity to create real value for companies that drive growth, green transition, and innovation.
You will receive
- An exciting and challenging job with a clear purpose and high societal impact
- An employer that emphasizes business focus, simplicity, and trust in an informal context
- Attractive terms, flexibility, and room for both ambition and balance in working life
- Engaged and professionally skilled colleagues in a diverse and inclusive culture where differences are seen as a strength.
