Langeland Municipality is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will have a central role in the municipality's strategic development.

The CFO will be part of a collaboration with the management and the political leadership, and must ensure that Langeland Municipality's financial management is both tight, robust, efficient and at the forefront of development. The CFO is the guarantor that the Finance and Procurement department looks beyond its own tasks and is capable of supporting all municipal centers.

We expect you to be clear and available in dialogue and collaboration. You easily communicate unambiguously and with nuance at the same time. Sharp prioritization and efficient task execution are a prerequisite to succeed in an organization with demands for better quality with fewer resources. You can easily contribute to the work of optimizing task solving, including the transition between central and decentralized functions.

You are relationally strong, credible and honest, and you thrive in a flat structure that makes the workplace more flexible. It requires that you are visible, good at internal communication and can create cohesion.

The CFO is responsible for Finance and Procurement, and reports to the Municipal Director.

Your tasks include, among others

• ensure robust and transparent financial management
• develop governance technologies and the organization's financial support
• improve both data and data-driven decisions
• advise both the management and the Finance Committee
• lead a professionally skilled and competent staff in Finance and Procurement

You are the right person if you have pronounced strategic and operational experience with finance in a municipality, have documented municipal leadership experience, can deliver lawful, professional, objective, true, and politically neutral advice and can convey complex contexts simply and clearly. You are curious about dialogue, can set a direction and reach goals, without losing the work environment from sight. So you must both be able to look far and keep the close in mind, or in other words, improve and motivate.

Start date and terms

As CFO you report to the Municipal Director. Salary and terms of employment according to agreement on executive remuneration. Salary level between DKK 830,000 and DKK 840,000, incl. contract allowance, but excluding pension.

Start as soon as possible and no later than December 1, 2026.
