Chief Physician for the Emergency Department, Zealand University Hospital, Nykøbing F.

We are seeking a specialist in emergency medicine or a specialist with cardiological competencies, with appointment on 1/12/2026 or by agreement.

We work in a professionally stimulating department with some of the sickest citizens in the country. This is in close collaboration with the clinic's other departments, but also Sjællands Universitetshospital's other campuses. The collaboration also extends toward the primary sector, and we engage in innovative projects and new working methods aimed at health offerings close to the citizen’s own home.

The position involves on-call duties.

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to

• Clinical work with the specialist at the front together with younger doctors.
• Function as clinical supervisor.
• Contribute to the implementation of new educational initiatives for doctors and nursing staff.
• Contribute to maintaining high quality in patient care and contribute to quality-improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to rethinking workflows in the department, but also toward collaborating departments and the primary sector, as well as potential solutions with private actors.

Qualifications

• Specialist in emergency medicine or a specialist with cardiological competencies.
• Engagement in continuous professional development and quality improvement.
• Good medical-pedagogical knowledge and experience.
• Interest in education.
• Experience with research is valued
• Curious about new thinking and an out-of-the-box approach

Starting salary for employees covered by a collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
