About the job
The Attorney General's Office seeks an acting head of the Prosecution Office with responsibility for general cases for the prosecution service at East Jutland Police.
The position is available to fill as of January 1, 2027.
Head of the Prosecution Office
The head of the Prosecution Office reports to the Chief Prosecutor and participates in the local prosecution service's leadership team, which is responsible for ensuring that criminal cases are processed at a high professional standard and with the necessary speed, and that the prioritization of cases is aligned with the requirements set by the Police Director based on the target and result requirements for the police district.
The head of the Prosecution Office shall lead the office's tasks, ensure efficiency, quality and legality in the office's work, and focus on ensuring that the office's staff thrive and develop. The head of the Prosecution Office should also have an eye for the tasks of the prosecution service across the local prosecution authority and actively participate in cross-silo collaboration within the police district.
The head of the Prosecution Office's area of responsibility will initially be the prosecution office for general cases. In connection with a reorganization of the prosecution service in 2027, where criminal case handling is likely to be carried out in professional communities centered on a common operations and visitation unit, the head of the Prosecution Office's area of responsibility is expected to become one or more of the professional communities.
Qualifications
The head of the Prosecution Office must be a well-qualified jurist (cand.jur.) with solid prosecutorial experience and a high professional integrity with a focus on quality, legality and development. It will be a great advantage if you have insight into and understanding of political processes as well as experience with professional leadership, staff management and operations management.
It is expected that you have personal presence and execution power as well as a motivating leadership style with a focus on visibility, legality and results. In addition, it is assumed that you are passionate about the development of both the prosecution service and the police district.
Salary and employment terms
The position is temporary and is paid a base salary as chief consultant, cf. the AC agreement's appendix on the protocol on special consultants and chief consultants on the new pay system, and an additional temporary allowance is attached. If you are already appointed as a civil servant, you will be able to maintain this form of employment.
The salary level corresponds to a position in pay grade 1 under the Framework Agreement on contractual employment of senior civil servants in the state (salary frame 37 for civil servants).
If you are already a head of the prosecution office or secretariat, you could transfer to the position and thereby maintain your current salary and terms of employment.
The employment scope of the position is the Ministry of Justice with its associated institutions. Your workplace will be East Jutland Police, Aarhus.

About the police district
The Prosecution Service at East Jutland Police is currently divided into 3 prosecution offices as well as an administrative section, but as mentioned above we plan a reorganization in 2027. We appear in court in Aarhus and Randers. In terms of staffing, we are a broadly composed group of both young and more experienced prosecutors and administrative staff. We prioritize that each individual has influence over and responsibility for planning their own work.
