The day care service (dagplejen) in Svendborg Municipality is seeking day care providers in Svendborg city, across several school districts.

Start date is 14.12.2026 or by agreement. Starting in a practical training period and then receiving children in your own home from 04.01.2027.

The job

As a day care provider you primarily work in your own home with 4 children aged 0-3 years, and you may occasionally host a guest child. You will be employed for 48 hours per week – and the working hours will follow the needs of the children and their parents. But you will have more freedom, as you earn time off in lieu (compensatory leave) regularly.

You will become part of a day care team, where you are divided into small groups that meet in all-day playrooms. Here you work with joint pedagogical activities and spar with colleagues as well as the pedagogical team leader. The playrooms are located in the local area, and you meet about 2-4 times per month.

Before you receive children in the day care home, you will undergo an introduction period of about 14 days, where you will be familiarized with the framework for day care work and will do a practical placement with your colleagues.

As a day care provider you are covered by the provisions of the Daycare Act regarding pedagogical curricula and the daycare area's “Vision, Mission and common pedagogical foundation.” In addition, we work with a Common Professional Orientation.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable agreement with FOA and KL.

In Svendborg Municipality the salary for this type of position typically lies between DKK 34,033 and 43,290 per month for full-time employment. The salary includes pension, special holiday allowance and fixed allowances. There can also be time-based allowances and other special remunerations. It is important to note that your concrete salary is determined by your experience, seniority and competencies and is agreed upon in negotiations with the relevant trade union.

HR department will obtain criminal records and child protection clearances for the applicant, their spouse and co-residing children over 15 years of age. It is a condition of employment that these clearances are satisfactory for the position. The assessment is carried out by the Legal Office in cooperation with the Director of Children and Youth.
