The Day Care Service in Svendborg Municipality is seeking day care providers on Thurø, within the Thurø school district.

Starting date is 14.12.2026 or by agreement. Start in a training program and then reception of children in your own home from 04.01.2027

The job

As a day care provider you primarily work in your own home with 4 children aged 0-3 years, and you may occasionally also host a guest child.

There is a possibility that you as a couple can work in a double home with 8-10 children.

You will become part of a day care team, where you are divided into small groups that meet in full-day playrooms. Here you work with joint pedagogical activities and sparring with colleagues as well as the pedagogical team leader. The playrooms are located in the local area, and you meet about 2-4 times a month.

Before you receive children in the day care home, you will go through an introduction program of about 14 days, where you will be introduced to the framework for day care work and go on internship with your colleagues.

As a day care provider you are covered by the provisions of the Day Care Act regarding pedagogical curricula as well as the day care sector’s “Vision, Mission and common pedagogical foundation”. We also work with a common professional direction.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with FOA and KL.

In Svendborg Municipality the salary for this type of position typically ranges between 34,033 and 43,290 DKK per month for full-time employment. The salary includes pension, special holiday allowance and fixed allowances. In addition, there may be shift allowances and other special payments. It is important to note that your specific salary is determined by your experience, seniority and competences and is agreed upon in negotiations with the relevant trade organization.

The HR department collects criminal records and child protection records for the applicant, their spouse and dependent children over 15 years old. It is a condition for employment that the criminal records and child records are satisfactory in relation to the position. The assessment is carried out by the Legal Office in collaboration with the Director of Children and Young People.
