Church singer wanted at Gjellerup Church

We are seeking a church singer for an average of 2 hours per week with a starting date of December 1, 2026.

There are three church singers who share the services equally, which means you will work about every 3rd weekend, as well as during the holidays.

The hours primarily cover services on weekends and on weekdays during the parish clerk's vacation period.

The duties will mainly be

· To sing at high masses and church ceremonies

· Recite the entrance prayer and the dismissal prayer

· Assist with the distribution of communion

· Have knowledge of liturgical actions: high masses, weddings, funerals/burials etc.

Gjellerup Parish is a large and active parish with an engaged congregation. There are often two high masses on Sundays and a baptism service and other church ceremonies on Saturdays.

The appointment is made by Gjellerup Parish Council, Kirkebyvej 1, Gjellerup, 7400 Herning.

Employment of a church singer is subject to the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and CO10 - Central Organization of 2010 and the organizational agreement between the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and CO10 for church functionaries with core tasks as respectively parish clerk, parish assistant/church and culture worker or church musician and the accompanying protocol for church musicians.

The annual salary is agreed within the range of DKK 333,747.00 – 475,590.00 DKK.

There is a stand-by commitment to the position. The stand-by allowance amounts to DKK 27,641.00 per year.

OK allowance of DKK 1,082.00 per year.

All of the above amounts are stated in current kroner as of 01.08.2026 for a full-time position.

For part-time employment, salary will be adjusted in proportion to the employment quota.

An agreement on placement within the salary range is made between the parish council and the Danish Church Musicians Association.

There is a 3-month probation period.

A child background check will be obtained upon employment.
