About the job
Are you a trained clinical assistant, and do you find orthodontics exciting? Do you have a passion for patient treatment in a professionally strong environment, then the following may be for you.
What tasks will you solve?
Patient treatment
About 90% of your working time will consist of patient treatment. Here your primary task will be to assist dental hygienists and specialists. In addition, there will be a number of delegated tasks related to orthodontic treatment that must be carried out independently. Depending on experience and qualifications we ensure training before you must be able to handle independent tasks.
Patient-related tasks
About 10% of your working time will consist of tasks that support patient treatment. This could include handling impressions, handling dental laboratory tasks, booking appointments and certain cleaning and maintenance tasks. The cleaning and maintenance tasks in the sterilization area are generally carried out by staff employed for this task. You will therefore only perform sterilization tasks in special situations such as illness.
Why work with us?
You will be working at the new dental clinic located on Nørrebrogade, which is unique in its size alone. The dental clinic will house a wide range of professional disciplines and expertise. There will be broad collaboration with both the other clinics in the Dental Service and with external partners.
The clinic opened for patient treatment in August 2023 and houses a general department with nine clinic rooms and a department for orthodontics with 23 clinic rooms. You will be colleagues with about 80 specialists, dentists, dental hygienists and clinical assistants, but your primary collaboration interface will be with the orthodontics department.
As a clinical assistant in the Copenhagen Dental Service there will be opportunities to participate in relevant education. In addition, there will be both training and thorough introduction regarding the task expected to be solved in the role.
Competencies
It will be a clear advantage if you already have experience with tasks and workflows related to patients in orthodontic treatment. This ranges from onboarding patients with material intake to supporting patient treatments during active treatment to the provision of retention appliances, monitoring retention patients, and concluding patients.
You should help create high productivity with an efficient flow in a dental clinic where there are many active patient treatments underway. You must be ready to solve many varied tasks related to patient treatments in collaboration with both specialist dentists, dental hygienists and clinical assistants. There is an expectation that you can work independently and in a structured manner in a sector where a very high degree of delegated tasks is used.
You should expect and thrive in a workday where a certain degree of unpredictability will always be present. A friendly, welcoming and acknowledging approach to all patients is a necessity, and you must have the ability to engage in constructive dialogue with both patients and colleagues.
The execution of the majority of the delegated tasks must be performed within clearly defined frameworks, and it is expected that these are followed. So you must be able to work in a structured way within the already set parameters.
