About the job
Do you have the professionalism, overview and the desire to lift together? We are seeking a clinical midwifery specialist (KJS) for a 9-month parental leave cover from 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter
As a KJS you will have a central role in the clinical daily life on the Maternity Ward at SUH Roskilde. You are the experienced midwife whom colleagues can spar with, and who at the same time has an eye for the whole, the operation and the good patient pathway. You work the shift in close collaboration with the obstetric medical team and contribute to the fertile interprofessional collaboration. With us, no one should be left alone with complex tasks. As a KJS you help make that a reality.
Your role as KJS
The KJS function is primarily a clinical function. You work closely with families and your colleagues and help ensure high professionalism, patient safety and cohesive pathways.
You shall among other things
- be a professional sparring partner for midwives and other colleagues
- support good and safe decisions in both normal and complex obstetric courses
- maintain an overview and contribute to prioritization and coordination of daily operations
- contribute to strong mono- and interprofessional collaboration
- support reflection, learning and professional development
- contribute to teaching, quality development and implementation of new knowledge
You will become an important bridge between professionalism, operation and development – with your feet solidly planted in the clinic.
We are looking for an experienced midwife with a strong midwifery profile, who...
- has a minimum of five years of experience as a midwife
- has solid clinical experience from an obstetric specialty department, rests in your midwifery professionalism and can maintain an overview – even when it is busy
- Is a good communicator and can through professional sparring and supervision support staff to prioritize their tasks, develop their professionalism and lift them to meet the department's requirements
- thrives in collaboration and is eager to take co-responsibility for professionalism, operation, development and the work environment
A strong professional community
At SUH we work for safe, cohesive and individually tailored pathways with the family as an active partner in collaboration.
You will become part of a smaller KJS team with close professional sparring and strong collegiality. We want a culture with room to ask, reflect and speak openly about what is difficult. As a KJS you do not have to have all the answers, but be part of creating an environment where we find good solutions together.
As a university hospital we work with obstetric research, data-driven quality development and evidence-based practice. As a KJS you help translate knowledge and development into the clinical everyday life.
How we work in the KJS team
The KJS function is staffed around the clock all year round. You work 12-hour shifts. Teaching and development activities can be included in the position.
The KJS team is self-sufficient in case of sudden absence. Weekends, shifts and holidays are distributed within the team so that everyone contributes, and at the same time there is room for the individual.
KJS works closely with management on acute shift coverage outside normal office hours.
