About the job

Do you want to help build something new – and set the direction for the future of occupational therapy in psychiatry?

With us, occupational therapy is not just about activities – it is about creating meaning, hope and development for people with complex psychiatric trajectories.

We are seeking a clinical occupational therapy specialist who is ready to step into a completely new role, where you – together with four other skilled specialists – will help shape, develop and anchor the role in practice.

Your role – a new function with great significance

As a clinical occupational therapy specialist you will be a key person in the development of the occupational therapy practice at the center.

You will be responsible for strengthening and developing evidence-based occupational therapy and activity-based treatment at an advanced level, and you will work closely with both occupational therapists, management and other professional groups.

You will be attached to one unit (two departments) and will also hold a cross-center function.

It is a new function, and that means the framework is not fully defined yet. You must be willing to help build something up, test, adjust and find ways – even when things don't go smoothly.

In return you will have a unique opportunity to make a clear professional mark.

You will become a

  • Driver of the development of evidence-based occupational therapy
  • Key person in strengthening activity-based treatment
  • Bridge-builder between practice, development and leadership
  • Professional sparring partner for colleagues and leadership

Your tasks

You will among other things

  • Drive and develop evidence-based occupational therapy and activity-based treatment
  • Ensure high quality in documentation, evaluation and clinical practice
  • Translate research and knowledge into concrete action
  • Initiate and participate in quality, development and improvement work
  • Support colleagues through sparring, supervision and competence development
  • Create coherence in patient pathways through interdisciplinary collaboration

You will have both a clear role in practice and a cross-center function

Your everyday

You will be attached to one unit with two departments, where you work closely with patients and colleagues – while also having an eye for development across the organization.

This is a position where you must be able to navigate both structure and ambiguity – and thrive with not everything being fixed from the start.

Who are you?

You are professionally strong – but also bold and curious, and you

  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in psychiatry
  • Have experience with development work, quality or research
  • Can create structure – even when it is not given in advance
  • Have impact and the ability to garner followership

A master's degree is an advantage.

You thrive not only in the well-functioning but also in things that are under development.

We offer

  • A unique opportunity to shape a new specialist function from the ground up
  • Real influence on the professional direction and practice
  • An ambitious and interdisciplinary environment in development
  • Opportunity to work with development, research and implementation
  • A daily life with meaning and clear professional influence

The position is located at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans and reports to the lead therapist.

Your salary and employment terms

We would like you to start on 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.

The position is 37 hours per week, primarily daytime shifts from Monday to Friday between 8 and 16.

You will be employed under the collective agreement for non-leading occupational therapists, physiotherapists and midwives, with salary placement as an occupational therapist or an occupational therapist with a master's. You are under employment covered by the current working hours agreement entered into between the Regions' Payroll and Tax Board and the trade union.

The on-call unit is around-the-clock, and you will be employed in mixed shifts in accordance with the working hours rules in the collective agreement.
