About the job
Are you passionate about making a difference? UngiAarhus is seeking in Mårslet a daycare and youth club educator with a desire to make a difference, especially for our members with special pedagogical challenges.
The position is at Mårslet Freizeit- og ungdomsklub, located at Testrupvej 1 and Testrupvej 4 in Mårslet – From the light railway in Mårslet it is only a 10-minute walk to the club.
Mårslet Freizeit- og Ungdomsklub consists of a leisure and youth club, spread over two premises. The leisure club is housed at Mårslet School, in the leisure club there are about 175 children in 4th and 5th grade. In the youth club there are about 150 children registered from 6th-9th grade. They are housed at ”Midgaard” on Testrupvej 1, about 100-200 meters from the Leisure Club.
The vast majority of our members come from resourceful families from the local area in Mårslet. In addition, we also create a good and inspiring club offering for young people from the special class at Mårslet School, and we generally focus on making the club a safe and developing place for all young people – regardless of prerequisites. So all in all, the members are a lovely bunch of cheerful young people who care for each other and for a good club life!
The club is a sanctuary where the young come after school to be with peers and adults who are passionate about doing things together with the youngsters.
We are looking for an educator who will help shape their pedagogical imprint on daily life and development at Mårslet Leisure and Youth Club. An educator who takes initiative and is a strong starter, while also keeping an eye on creating good relationships with the members – you are intended to play a decisive role in creating the best possible club offering for our members with special pedagogical challenges. We believe that all children and young people grow by being given trust within clear frameworks, so they can bloom and develop together with the community.
At the same time you are an educator who shines through. You might be a whiz at knitting, or you might think IT is the coolest tool to reach the youngsters - or perhaps you have just attended a great DnD workshop you just have to show the kids, or maybe you love using movement as a pedagogical tool. It could also be that you have a musical talent of another world! The most important thing is that you are passionate about something, and eager to actively use it together with the members in your pedagogical work!
You will become part of a strong professional and engaged team, where there is a high level of well-being. And a high degree of participation in daily life; we are very good at saying yes when a good idea arises, both among the staff, but especially when it arises among the children and the young people!
We are 10 permanent employees who together work hard to create a club with meaning, well-being and presence – and where we continuously discuss how best to support members with special needs.
All of this largely takes place together with the children and the young people. You will also, together with your colleagues, be introduced to a broader range of tasks, child statements, professional documentation, special pedagogical interventions and participation in network meetings etc.
