Compliance- and risk officer

Do you want to lead the bank's two central control functions and be a professionally strong sparring partner for management, the board and the organization?

Møns Bank is seeking a compliance- and risk officer who will have the overall responsibility for these two functions. The position reports directly to the bank's management and must be handled with the necessary independence, professional authority and organizational impact.

A substantial part of the operational activities is performed in an established collaboration with the consulting firm Advisense. Outsourcing does not change your responsibility: You must actively steer, challenge, quality assure and approve the deliveries and ensure that assessments, recommendations and reporting reflect Møns Bank's business model and risk profile.

Advisense supports the functions with, among other things, drafts of annual risk assessments and annual plans, execution of planned investigations and controls, drafts of reports, and participation in debriefing meetings and annual meetings with the board. As the internal owner you will be the link between the bank and Advisense.

Your overall areas of responsibility

• Ensure an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the bank's material risks and compliance risks and assess whether they are identified, measured, managed and reported with reassurance.
• Advise and challenge the management, function heads and responsible specialists on risks, regulatory compliance, control environment and corrective actions.
• Be a consulted party for new products, processes, outsourcing, major projects and organizational changes.
• Report to management and the board and escalate significant risks, rule breaches, control weaknesses or quality and capacity problems without undue delay.
• Manage dialogue with audits, other relevant authorities and external partners.
• Ensure relevant documentation, follow-up on recommendations and ongoing development of the bank's framework for compliance and risk management.

Your profile

• You have solid experience with compliance and risk management in a financial institution, another financial company, audit, advisory or a supervisory authority.
• You have an in-depth understanding of financial regulation, governance, internal controls and working in an independent second line of defense.
• You can translate rules and risk assessments into clear, proportionate and usable recommendations.
• You work in a structured and analytical way and can maintain an overview across credit, market, liquidity, operational and other non-financial risks.
• You communicate securely and precisely with employees, specialists, management, board, auditors and authorities.
• You have integrity, judgment and courage to challenge and escalate when necessary, while creating constructive collaboration relationships.
• You must be able to obtain the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority's fit & proper approval for both functions.
