Contract Manager for large civil engineering contracts

At the Danish Road Directorate we work every day to create coherence for the many road users who use the Danish state roads.

The Infrastructure Agreement 2035 means that we have many exciting projects at the Danish Road Directorate in the coming years. Roads must be built and expanded, new connections established, and the green transition receives a big boost with more cycle paths and charging parks along the state roads.

As a contract manager you will be responsible for one of the contracts included in the project ”expansion of Amager Motorway”, with management of earthworks, road and drainage, construction of new structures, noise barriers and execution of the project with consideration for nature and the environment.

“You will help ensure optimal execution of the many important infrastructure projects we must implement over the next 10 years, and you will experience the pride of watching the projects progress for the benefit of the road users,” says department head Kim Heidemann Jansen.

Your tasks will be

• continually ensure the economy, time and quality in the completion of the construction contracts
• to work with leadership and coordination of the client’s professional supervision, where the goal is continually to optimize task execution
• to join a well-functioning team with our other contract- and discipline-project managers within civil engineering projects

You will report to the head of the East Civil Works division, Kim Heidemann Jansen.

Your profile

We imagine that you are educated as an engineer, designer or similar.

In addition, we would like you to

• have solid experience in managing large civil engineering projects, etc.
• are driven to deliver professional results and to develop and create results together with and through others
• work systematically and in a structured way, while being able to think creatively and find practical and durable solutions
• draw on your communication skills, and ability to create a good and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders in a project, including contractors, consultants, neighbours, etc.

We are at the forefront of the latest digital tools, and it is an advantage if you have good knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) in construction and civil projects. Regardless of background, we ensure you receive a good introduction to the tasks.

Your new workplace

In the Danish Road Directorate's East Civil Works Department we are 20 dedicated employees who primarily work with contract management of tasks within the construction of the state's roads east of the Storebælt Bridge.

The Danish Road Directorate is an agency under the Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing. We are about 900 employees spread across seven locations nationwide. We are a project organization and therefore prioritise collaboration across units and disciplines and with our surroundings.

Your pay and employment terms

You will be employed and paid under the applicable civil service agreement.

As a professional/academic employee you are employed under the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of professional associations for academics in the state. You are placed based on academic seniority (entry level 1-8) according to the AC collective agreement.

You can see the salary progression for the AC scale base levels on page 32 in the State's Salary Overview.

If you do not have an academic degree, and therefore cannot be placed under the AC agreement, we will as far as possible place you according to the state agreement to which your educational background indicates.

You will be employed with the job title Contract Manager.

Your place of employment will be the Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing with its institutions. The workplace is the Danish Road Directorate in the East Civil Works department, where you are employed at the address Guldalderen 12, 2640 Hedehusene.

You must be willing to travel to the Directorate's other service locations. The employment is conditional on holding a valid driver's license (category B).
