About the job

Are you passionate about intensive psychiatry, interdisciplinary collaboration and strong professional leadership in a dynamic everyday life with pace in the field? Then we offer in the Adult Psychiatric Department, Aalborg an exciting and developing consultant position with a high degree of independence.

About the job

As a consultant you will have a particularly important task in the form of leadership responsibility for the medical tasks that the inpatient ward undertakes. You will solve this task in close collaboration with the treatment team, the chief nurse and the rest of the interprofessional staff, where you together also focus on coordinating daily operations, collaboration and the working environment.

Finally, you will have a particularly close collaboration with the leading consultants in the intensive care and acute areas. The acute area consists of Ward S6 (also a closed acute ward) and Psychiatric Receiving Ward and the Emergency Department S4, as well as the outpatient units where patients are typically followed.

The department has many students, both pre- and post-graduate, across all disciplines, where you are expected to participate in activities and teaching, and this especially in fulfilling this task towards medical students and doctors. Finally, you will naturally have an important role in anchoring the inpatient ward’s cooperation with the other inpatient wards located together in the new university hospital in Hospital City, while the outpatient clinics are thereafter gathered in an Ambulatory House located on Brandevej in Aalborg Øst. The latter is expected to be fully completed in early 2027.

About you

It is a prerequisite that you are a specialist in psychiatry, with a strong professional profile, and that you wish to work in an exciting position with both clinical and educational activities as well as potential research. That you thrive in an interprofessional work environment with many colleagues and partners, have good communication skills and are able to structure your daily life in connection with developmental activities – and you are of course an active contributor in a changing daily life.

We expect that you have

  • Danish authorization as a medical specialist in psychiatry – preferably with solid experience in the acute area
  • Good collaboration skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and provide professional sparring
  • Ability to achieve results based on shared direction and coordination.

Clinical experience and competencies within intensive psychiatry would be an advantage.

We offer

The Adult Psychiatric Department, Aalborg is a large department with many colleagues, and we invite you into a strong interdisciplinary community with a strong focus on ensuring a good working environment.

We work according to the region's I-TOP values, and it is given high priority that in our work we focus on seeing and meeting the patients where they are, by putting their needs first and doing what works for the patient. In the Patient’s Team we work to ensure cross-sector collaboration in the cohesive patient pathways together with the patient and relatives.
