About the job

Do you want to make a difference for climate and the environment in the procurement area in the country’s largest municipality? We are seeking a consultant for a project appointment.

With us, you will translate political ambitions for sustainability in the Copenhagen Municipality into practice and support ambitious climate and environmental requirements in the municipality's procurement. If this sounds like you, you may be our new consultant for a maternity cover position.

Copenhagen Municipality is one of Denmark’s largest public purchasers. With a procurement volume of over DKK 19 billion per year, we have the opportunity to make a real difference and influence the market in relation to the green transition.

We are a office consisting of two teams that work with environmental and social sustainable procurement, and there is strong political attention on our tasks. Our tasks are varied—from calculating CO2e emissions from the municipality’s purchases to advising on sustainable procurement across all municipal administrations. We are seeking a project manager who will work in the Team for Environmental Sustainable Procurement.

In the job as a consultant you will, among other things,

  • Advise procurement consultants on climate and environmental requirements in procurement agreements for goods and services
  • Participate in development projects that have a procurement and sustainability angle
  • Help collect and communicate data about advisory efforts and climate and environmental requirements intended to support Copenhagen Municipality’s Climate Strategy
  • Participate in various internal and external networks and partnerships on behalf of the Team for Environmental Sustainable Procurement

It is a plus if you can apply a life cycle perspective, which we use to set relevant climate and environmental requirements in public procurement.

About you

You are a positive and ambitious team player with a desire to contribute to the team as a team player. In addition, we envisage that you

  • Have a relevant higher education—preferably with a focus on climate and the environment
  • Would preferably have procurement experience or an interest in the procurement area in general
  • Are process-oriented and independent and can drive and coordinate several internal and external tasks simultaneously
  • Can build good relationships and bring people together to find the right sustainability angle for each procurement
  • Produce sharply written materials such as political motions, politician briefings or presentations and is a natural communicator
  • Have organizational understanding and knowledge of change processes

We offer

  • Opportunity to develop your competencies within sustainability
  • Great influence on your tasks and workflows
  • A strong work community with focus on professional sparring
  • An informal working environment with passionate and engaged colleagues with diverse professional backgrounds

The position is located in the Office for Sustainable Procurement. Sustainable Procurement is organizationally placed in Copenhagen Municipality’s Center for Finance and Procurement in Corporate Services, which is part of the Finance Administration. We are based in a modern office environment at Borups Allé 177. There may be periods when we are busy, but we generally strive for flexible scheduling, and we have many good initiatives to ensure a nice and pleasant working environment.

Employment terms

You will be employed with salary and terms of employment according to experience, qualifications, and relevant collective agreement with Copenhagen Municipality. We prioritize your professional and personal development so you have the best conditions to succeed in your tasks. You will have a 37-hour work week (including lunch) and a flexitime arrangement.

Start on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The job is a project appointment and is time-limited with expected end date in November 2027.
