About the job
Would you like to help develop the Danish primary and lower secondary school in the Municipality of Rødovre? Do you have knowledge about teaching and learning, and can you drive projects and communicate complex issues clearly? Then we have an exciting position for you.
We are looking for a consultant who will help bring the School Department's work closer to the school's core task: Children and young people's learning, well-being and development. You should contribute professional insight and help translate political ambitions and decisions into concrete actions that work in the daily life of schools. In the school area, we work, among other things, with health and well-being, learning communities for all, as well as technology and innovation.
We are focused on how the initiatives can strengthen teaching and give more children and young people good opportunities to learn and participate in the community. As a consultant you will help develop and translate this work in close collaboration with the schools.
Your tasks
You will be responsible for driving development tasks in close cooperation with the schools, your colleagues and the School area’s management. You must be able to set direction for and drive projects, create an overview and ensure the implementation of the solutions.
Your tasks will include, among others, to
- Plan and lead projects that support teaching, learning and well-being.
- Facilitate networks, workshops and give presentations
- Collaborate with school leaders and staff to develop practice.
- Use data and knowledge from the schools to investigate challenges, qualify initiatives and follow up on results.
- Prepare briefs, political matters and other written communications that make complex questions understandable and provide a solid basis for decisions.
The tasks will be composed based on your competences and the School Department's overall responsibilities and tasks. You will have responsibility for both longer-term projects and for tasks that require a quick clarification and a precise answer.
What you bring
You have solid knowledge of the Danish primary and lower secondary school and preferably experience from schools' practice. You are focused on what creates good teaching, learning and well-being, and you have insight into the everyday life that school leaders and staff face.
You can create structure and momentum in projects and get others involved in the work. You take responsibility for your tasks and use your colleagues' knowledge when it makes the solution better.
Your communication is one of your strengths. You write clearly and precisely and can adapt both a written brief and an oral discussion to the people you are addressing. You can listen, ask relevant questions and make your professional assessment clear.
You can draw on and use data as the basis for professional questions and development and put the numbers in context with the schools' experiences. You also understand working in a politically governed organization. If you have experience with political orders and with writing committee matters, that is an advantage.
Your educational background can vary, but it can be an advantage if you are teacher-trained with an academic postgraduate qualification. The important thing is that you can connect knowledge about the school with the ability to carry out development work.
What you get with us
You will become part of a multidisciplinary community consisting of 9 colleagues with different backgrounds in the School Department in the Municipality of Rødovre's Children and Culture Administration. We work with both operations, development and political support and collaborate closely with the schools and across areas and administrations. Our shared ambition is that the work should contribute to learning, well-being and development for the municipality's children and young people.
With us you get a varied daily life with professional challenges and the opportunity to influence both your tasks and our collaboration with the schools. You will come close to both the schools' practice and the political decisions and have the opportunity to follow initiatives from the initial considerations to concrete solutions in everyday life.
We place emphasis on professional sparring, close collaboration and have an informal tone with humor.
