We are seeking a specialist in neurology for a position as department physician with a particular focus on acute neurology, stroke and thrombolysis. The position is available for occupation on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
You will become a central part of our acute neurological function at Bispebjerg and will work closely with experienced specialists, junior doctors and nurses around some of neurology's most acute and complex patients.
Your professional focus
Your primary affiliation will be
- Neurological Acute Ward N10A
- Thrombolysis function
- Subacute neurological outpatient clinic
- Acute neurological supervision, including at FIMA and ITA
- To a lesser extent neurological functions at Bornholm Hospital, physically or virtually.
You will be part of the team around the acute neurological admissions and patients with acute stroke. The department is responsible for the thrombolysis function for the entire Region Capital in collaboration with the Neurology Department at Rigshospitalet.
This means that you will have the opportunity to both build and maintain a strong profile in acute neurological diagnostics, stroke and acute thrombolysis treatment.
A workday with both acute neurology and continuity
As a starting point, a workweek could include
- 1 day in the subacute neurological outpatient clinic
- 1-2 days with ward rounds and rounds on N10A
- thrombolysis function during day, evening or night shifts (08:00-16:30, 08:00-20:00, 16:00-08:00)
- supervision at BBH, FIMA and ITA.
There will be planned approximately one night shift and one weekend ward round per month, as well as about six days annually with a function for neurological patients at Bornholm Hospital. The Bornholm function may be physical or virtual.
The concrete work plan is arranged with consideration for both the department's needs and your clinical interests and development goals.

We place particular emphasis on you

- wish to supervise and educate younger doctors and medical students

You do not need to have many years of experience as a specialist. The most important is that you have a solid neurological foundation, professional curiosity and a desire to become really skilled in acute neurology.
What you get with us
We want to create a position where you, as department physician, both have clinical responsibility and the opportunity for continued professional development.
You will become part of a strong specialist environment and will receive
