Controller / Finance Assistant for Finance and Data in the Health, Care and Prevention Administration

In the Health, Care and Prevention Administration we employ about 4,800 employees spread across many different professional groups. We are a new administration in Odense Municipality as of January 1, 2026, which gives you the opportunity to influence both the task solving and the future financial management.

About the department The department works with finance and data as a foundation for decisions and development, and we have a strong professionalism that we continuously develop. Finance and Data from January 1, 2026 are organized as a network, where we daily work in both professional units and cross-cutting task communities. This organization strengthens collaboration, knowledge sharing and flexibility, so we can provide the best support to operations and create data-driven decisions.

The department consists of 44 highly qualified employees, and we are a central unit that supports the entire administration. For us, professionalism goes hand in hand with relationships and community – we believe that strong collaborations and a good network are the key to quality and development.

About the position The position will encompass a broad range of tasks such as

• Preparation of budget follow-ups
• Ongoing dialogue with operational management about financial questions and priorities
• The construction/update of the department's chart of accounts and its structure
• Reconciliation tasks in the financial system
• Case handling in the professional system Nexus, including collaboration with the department's Authority department
• Settlements to and from municipalities in the specialized social sector

As the tasks indicate, you will have a varied daily life with many different tasks. The final task portfolio will be tailored based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition to tasks related to ongoing operations, the position will also include

• Diverse ad hoc tasks
• Tariff calculation
• Analytical tasks
• Participation in various meeting forums and other relevant task communities

About you You have a relevant education in economics.

In addition we expect that you

• Can work in both groups and independently when solving tasks
• Have experience from working with finance in a politically governed organization
• Are passionate about operational tasks and financial management
• Have understanding of public accounting operations
• Can work in a structured way

Salary and employment terms The position is paid according to the current collective agreement between KL and the negotiating-party organization. The expected salary level is disclosed before a possible interview and depends on experience and qualifications.

This is a permanent full-time position with a start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
