Cook for maternity leave replacement sought for UUC Maglemosen

Do you want to be part of a committed kitchen team, where cooking, community and pedagogy go hand in hand?

UUC Maglemosen is seeking a trained chef for a maternity leave cover position. With us you become part of a youth education program and an activity and social engagement offering in development for young people with both physical and mental disabilities. We are looking for a chef who is passionate about making healthy and tasty food, and who can also see the value in involving young people in the daily life of the kitchen. Here, the work is not only about food, but also about creating participation opportunities, relationships and positive experiences around the meal.

Who are we?

The kitchen at UUC Maglemosen is an important gathering point in the house. You will be part of a small team consisting of a “pedagogical cook”, two young people in sheltered employment and a flex job employee. The kitchen is open and accessible to both young people and staff. We emphasize that the young people feel welcome, seen and heard, and that they have the opportunity to participate actively in the kitchen tasks when it makes sense. We produce daily lunch for about 80 people, but we also provide catering for meetings, events and parties with up to 250 participants.

It is important that you can keep an overview, even when you are the only chef at work. Together we must continue to develop good workflows.

About UUC Maglemosen

UUC Maglemosen is a dynamic and development-oriented youth education program as well as an activity and social engagement offering for around 100 young people aged 16-30. The target group consists of young people with general learning difficulties, mobility impairments and/or communication difficulties. Our work is based on creating the best possible conditions for development, learning and participation in the community.

Your key tasks

• Prepare healthy and tasty lunch meals
• Involve the young people in relevant kitchen tasks
• Be present and approachable to both young people and staff
• Contribute to the development of new, healthy recipes
• Ensure compliance with self-monitoring and hygiene standards
• Participate in planning and running events, including gala parties and other festive occasions
• Bake and cook together with the young people as part of their participation in the community.

Working hours

The working hours are generally on weekdays between 06:30 and 14:00. There will be evening events in connection with parties, meetings and special activities.

Appointment process and salary

The employment start date is December 1, 2026.

We will hold interviews as we receive applications.

The position is generally 37 hours and is a temporary position.

Application deadline: October 28, 2026.

We offer salary and employment terms under the collective agreement for unskilled employees, cleaning/kitchen assistants in the municipalities. Employment is based on local salary-setting principles and in agreement with the negotiating organization.

The salary range for the position is 30,131.08 – 36,405.21 DKK per month, pension not included upon full-time employment (37 hours per week).

The final salary is set after negotiation between the employer and the trade union that has negotiating rights in the relevant collective agreement area. The salary depends, among other things, on your education, documented seniority and qualifications.
