Creative activities and companionship with a girl with autism

Do you have experience with special education and a good understanding of demand-avoidant behavior? We are seeking a pedagogue who can create cozy and active moments with a cheerful and creative girl.

About the task

The girl is social, outgoing and highly gifted. She enjoys, among other things, Minecraft, creative activities such as drawing and painting, scouting, animals and outings away from home. A trip to a cafe or the cinema can also be a good activity.

The girl has atypical autism and ADHD as well as a PDA profile with demand-avoidant behavior. She can become exhausted quickly and needs an approach where you are attentive to her energy and meet her calmly and flexibly. It is important that you can motivate without pressuring and build a good relationship based on her interests.

You meet the girl either at school or at home, after which you do something cozy together. It could be a trip to the playground, a creative activity or other experiences based on what she is interested in. The task is intended to provide the family with respite.

About you

You are a trained pedagogue and have experience with special education. It is important that you have experience with demand-avoidant behavior and the PDA profile and know how to adapt your communication and approach so that demands and expectations do not become unnecessarily burdensome.

You work calmly and steadily and can use humor naturally in relationship-building. At the same time you can take the girl's initiatives and interests as a starting point and create activities within safe and predictable frameworks.

Working hours

The position is 4.5 hours per week, corresponding to 19.5 hours per month.

The hours are distributed as

• 3 hours on one weekday each week, preferably Wednesday or Friday, with the possibility of placement in the time window 10.00–18.00.
• 3 hours every other weekend. The day is arranged flexibly with the family, and the shift is placed in the time window 10.00–19.00.

You will become part of a family-owned company with many engaged colleagues. You have a fixed advisor whom you can always get sparring from. Outside office hours there is always a staffed duty telephone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the Central Collective Agreement for handicapped assistance in citizens' own homes (minus BPA) entered into between FOA and Danish Industry. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and work injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension plan.
