About the job

Do you want to work with CTS/BMS in a technical environment where installations must operate in practice every day and where you have the opportunity to develop professionally in line with the task?

At Hvidovre Hospital, CTS/BMS is an important part of the technical operations. The systems monitor and control a wide range of installations, and when something does not function as expected, it requires technical understanding, systematic approach and the ability to find the right solution.

As a CTS/BMS specialist you will become part of the Electrical and BMS team, which consists of eight technicians, of whom four today have a particular focus on BMS. You will work closely with your colleagues, but also take on a central professional role and are expected over time to become a professional beacon for the BMS area.

From troubleshooting to commissioning

Your everyday life will be a combination of the existing technical operations and the construction and civil engineering projects that continuously develop the hospital's installations.

Some tasks begin with an error report, where you must work systematically to the root cause and assess whether the problem lies in the control, the communication, or the installation itself.

Other tasks start much earlier in the process. Here you may be involved in idea proposals and requirements specifications and later follow the solution through testing, commissioning and the transition from project to stable operation.

This gives you the opportunity to both solve concrete technical problems and influence the solutions that must function at the hospital for many years to come

Your main tasks will be to

  • Work with troubleshooting, maintenance and optimization of CTS/BMS systems
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of new or changed technical installations
  • Analyze operation data and find the cause when a plant is not functioning as expected
  • Contribute CTS/BMS expertise in operation as well as construction projects.
  • Follow technical tasks and deliveries through to completion in collaboration with colleagues and external suppliers

Documentation and technical follow-up will also become a natural part of the work. When an installation is changed or a supplier performs a task, the technical information must be in place so the solution also works in the long term.

The technology must be explainable

You will interact with many different people in the job, from other technicians and supervisors to the project organization, hospital departments and external suppliers.

Therefore it is not enough that you can understand the problem yourself. You must also be able to explain what is wrong, what the consequence is, and how it should be solved.

We emphasize that you can collaborate across and maintain a technical dialogue in a way that creates forward momentum rather than additional complexity.

The technical foundation is more important than the perfect background

You have practical experience with CTS/BMS, automation or related building management and a good understanding of the interaction between the control and the physical installations.

Your background could be, for example, as an electrician, automation technician, or something else relevant. The crucial thing is not the title of your apprenticeship certificate or diploma, but what you have worked with.

Experience with troubleshooting is important, and if you have worked with commissioning, that is an advantage.

Among others, iFix, Desigo CC and Beckhoff are used in the existing environment. However, we do not expect you to already know the specific systems. If you have solid practical experience with comparable CTS/BMS systems, that is a strong starting point.

Opportunity to grow with the role

We do not expect you to be able to do all parts of the role from day one.

The most important is that the technical foundation is in place, and that you have the desire and ability to develop professionally.

As you get to know the hospital's facilities and organization better, you will have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility for the BMS area and become a central professional sparring partner.

This can include, among other things, critical systems, technical networks, documentation, supplier dialogue and the long-term development of the area.

The role is therefore relevant both for the experienced CTS/BMS profile and for you who already have practical experience and are now ready to take on greater professional responsibility.
