Danish teacher sought for maternity leave replacement

Are you a trained teacher with a major in Danish, then Pilegårdsskolen has the opportunity to offer you a maternity substitute on a full-time basis.

If you dream of a few fewer weekly working hours, we will also find a solution for that.

The substitute period runs from 13 October 2026 and the school year up to and including 31 July 2027 possibly with extension.

The teaching will be on 1st and 7th grade. In 1st grade you will be the class teacher and in 7th grade you will have a half class teacher function and besides Danish there will be quite a bit of resource time in the timetable.

You will be attached to two teams. One in our primary school and one in our upper school.

In the primary school we work in year-group teams with a horizontal team structure from kindergarten to 5th grade, in contrast to the upper school, which works in a vertical team structure from 6th to 9th grade.

have a positive attitude and lots of good humor.

Your everyday life at Pilegårdsskolen You will primarily work in the two teams you are attached to; in addition you will be able to spar and collaborate across other teams and subjects, so we can make use of our many competencies.

We work with professional learning communities, where through teamwork we support and keep each other to create the best framework for

our students' learning and well-being.

Pilegårdsskolen is one of 7 public schools in Tårnby Municipality's school system. We are about 85 teachers to 1150 students in grades 0-9. The school is located in a suburban area close to Amager Fælled and with short distance to the many open school offerings in both Tårnby and Copenhagen. If you are a newly graduated In Tårnby Municipality we offer in collaboration with DLF, Kreds 13, an introductory program for newly graduated teachers and kindergarten leaders. It takes place in collaboration with your leader, trusted representative and occupational health and safety representative.

The first two years as a newly graduated teacher you also have reduced teaching time, and at all schools there is a mentor scheme. We take care to give you a good start to the teaching life.

Salary and conditions of employment Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the Danish Teachers' Union after negotiation.

The municipality's employment policy implies that references are obtained from previous and current workplaces at the time of hire. If you have been employed in Tårnby Municipality, a reference will always be taken. In addition, a criminal records certificate must be shown and a child certificate must be obtained at hire. The employment will be conditional on these being satisfactory.
