About the job
Since our Danish teacher is going on maternity leave, we are seeking a new Danish teacher for our 2nd year cohort, who will take over the maternity leave schedule with the possibility of permanent employment in the future.
Espergærdeskolen is a two-track school in growth, and at the moment we have three kindergarten classes. Therefore we also expect our staff group to grow.
Espergærdeskolen is a cozy school located in the middle of a residential neighborhood close to the coast and the forest. At our school we know each other, and that helps create security, trust and strong communities. We place value on academic, social and developmental perspectives in each pupil's development and in the communities the pupil is a part of. We continuously work to adjust and rethink our pedagogical practice with a focus on students' well-being and learning.
We have a solution-focused approach, where we base on what succeeds and develop our practice from there. We are a two-track primary school from 0–6th grade with about 350 pupils and 49 engaged staff distributed across school, after-school care (SFO) and clubs. As a teacher at Espergærdeskolen you will become part of a strong professional community characterized by professionalism, helpfulness and humor.
We expect that you
- Have a major in Danish and an interest in or competencies within musically creative subjects and/or physical education.
- See the value in developing the class community through clear structures, frameworks and expectations – for both the community and the individual pupil.
- Can create good learning processes focusing on students' motivation, eagerness to learn and social interaction, among others through varied and differentiated teaching.
- Take into account each pupil's strengths, competencies and needs in your teaching.
- Actively and positively contribute to a committed collaboration with colleagues on students' learning, formation and well-being.
- Are approachable and acknowledging in your approach to students, parents and colleagues.
- Are open to thinking anew and differently and are keen to develop teaching – both subject-based, interdisciplinary and in connection with theme weeks.
We offer
- A strong and inclusive academic community with engaged and collaborative colleagues.
- A safe school with clear boundaries and a pleasant atmosphere.
- A school focused on well-being, development and high academic standards.
- Opportunity to influence and develop teaching – both in the subjects and across, through interdisciplinary programmes and theme weeks.
- A daily life with room for ideas, innovation and professional development.
- Good opportunities for sparring and skills development.
- A listening and approachable leadership.
- A school culture characterized by openness, recognition and respect.
- A workplace where collaboration on students' learning and well-being is central.
