About the job
Do you want to work in the very engine room of the Danish welfare state and deal with large numbers, high complexity and a meaningful agenda together with professionally skilled and engaged colleagues?
We are seeking numerically and analytically strong economic partners for the Steering Office in the Economics area of the Tax Administration. You should have flair for numbers and analysis, a sharp pen, and not least a desire for tasks within financial management.
A little about us
In The Steering Office we work to ensure coherent financial management for the Tax Agency's areas with an annual budget of over DKK 3 billion. As financial partners for the areas we support them in daily financial management as well as ensure that there is strategic prioritization of the agency's financial framework. In addition, we assist the areas with financial analyses and the like.
The office consists of 20 employees, including a head of office and two deputy heads.
As an employee in the Steering Office you can look forward to working in a spacious, ambitious and informal workplace. Here we can offer varied, versatile tasks together with good collegiality – both internally in the office and across the offices in the Economics area and the rest of the Tax Agency. We believe that good colleague relations create better professional results.
Varied tasks and development opportunities
You will be involved in the work with the office's core tasks, and gain broad exposure in the Economics area and the rest of the Tax Agency. There will be recurring tasks in the annual cycle, e.g., expense follow-up and the base budget process, and you will have the opportunity to deepen and improve within the core task. You will also be required to participate in ad hoc analysis tasks, write cases, ensure that processes run, and act as a sparring partner for the collaborators in the Tax Agency.
We use Power BI as our primary tool for management reporting and continually work on developing and improving our solutions. Experience with and a sense for data processing and communication, preferably through Power BI, will thus be a plus. To succeed in the position you must have the desire and ability to build trusting relationships, be curious and take initiative in task solving.
Your tasks in broad terms could include
- financial controlling, including ongoing budget and expense follow-up
- economic analyses, budget analyses and preparation of budget cases
- advise, support and challenge the budget- and results-responsible under-directors in the departments
- development and efficiency of our internal processes, methods and tools, including development of a solid data foundation.
- further development and improvement of our management reporting in Power BI.
About you
You have, as a starting point, a relevant postgraduate education at master level within social sciences, e.g., cand.oecon., cand.polit., cand.scient.pol., or cand.merc. It would be advantageous if you have experience from e.g. a government agency or a ministry, but recent graduates could also be considered.
In addition we place emphasis on you
- are detail-oriented and responsible.
- can build trusting relationships with collaborators.
- work independently and structured with your tasks.
- are numerically strong and analytical.
- are curious and have a good portion of go-for-it.
We are looking for you who are interested in continuing to develop and become proficient, as that is something we focus on. You will be attached both at the start and ongoing to a team of colleagues you can spar with, and where you help and learn from each other. Professionalism is a major value at the Tax Agency, and we continually work both internally and externally to improve our financial professionalism.
Contact and terms of employment
Submit your application, including CV and transcript via the link "Søg stillingen" no later than Wednesday 28 October 2026. Interviews are expected to be held in early November. Interviews can also be held on an ongoing basis.

There will be a review of personal profile and logical analysis as part of the recruitment process, and a police certificate will be obtained prior to employment.
If you proceed to employment in the recruitment process, you should be aware that we conduct a check whether you have debt that has been sent to collection by the public sector. We also check whether you have concluded control and/or criminal cases in the tax and duties area. Your employment is conditional on us not finding information about you that is incompatible with employment in the Tax and Growth Ministry's group.
You will be employed under a collective agreement in accordance with the then-current collective agreement for academics in the state (AC).
The employment area is the Ministry of Taxation and Growth with its associated institutions. Your physical workplace is Copenhagen Towers 1, Hannemanns Allé 25, 2300 Copenhagen S. Start on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible.
