Data Platform Engineer for TV 2 Technology

In TV 2 Data Foundation we are looking for an experienced data platform engineer to manage, design and further develop the data platform. You will become part of a central platform team that sets direction and standards for data work across the organization.

We are in the midst of a transformation with re-platforming and increased use of Databricks and AWS, which will going forward become central in our setup. At the same time, the platform's role expands from primarily supporting analysis and reporting to also supporting ML, AI, personalization and technology teams more broadly across TV 2.

Role

As a Data Platform Engineer in Data Foundation you will be responsible for managing, designing and further developing the data platform, for example via infrastructure as code, automated provisioning, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, observability, access management, security, governance, cost management as well as establishing and operating Databricks workspaces and common platform components. Additionally there are APIs, model serving and event- or real-time integrations where relevant.

The role presumes that you can take ownership of the technical platform, architectural choices and long-term decisions in close collaboration with the organization around you.

As a Data Platform Engineer you will work closely with other Data Engineers and teams across the organization. You help set direction, define standards and ensure that the platform can be scaled and used broadly with expanded data democratization in the organization.

Your primary responsibilities will be to

• make and translate architectural and technical choices in collaboration with the organization.
• ensure and implement scalability, monitoring and stability on the data platform.
• work with APIs and real-time data, which will be used in other systems.
• ensure consistent use of the platform across user groups.

In the role you will work closely with technology and product teams on platform-related integrations, data availability and use of common data components. Your main task will be to contribute to defining and developing standards and ways of collaboration to ensure high quality, performance and long-term maintenance of the data platform at TV 2.

Your profile

We are looking for a profile with solid experience in data platforms and cloud-based platforms, who can take on responsibility and make technical decisions.

We expect that you have

• a solid technical background in computer science, software engineering or equivalent.
• experience with design, operation and further development of production-critical data platforms and knowledge of the above platform tasks.
• experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

You have experience with AWS, Databricks and infrastructure as code, e.g. Terraform, and are comfortable working with Python and Spark. You understand the interplay between cloud infrastructure, databases, APIs and data platforms and are motivated to create robust platform solutions that other teams can build on.

The role entails taking ownership of platform components, driving technical decisions and contributing to the long-term development of TV 2’s data platform.
