About the job

Center for Social and Labour Market – Ballerup Municipality

Are you passionate about working with data, analyses and development – and do you want to help strengthen the governance and development of the adult-specialised social area? Then you may be the one we are looking for as our new data consultant in the Center for Social and Labour Market.

About the position

The adult-specialised social area in Ballerup Municipality covers the adult provisions of the Social Services Act – including support and interventions for citizens with disabilities, mental health challenges and social difficulties.

You will play a central role in the implementation and ongoing operation of our governance framework for the adult-specialised social area. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining reporting based on the municipality's data models with a basis in the decided governance framework.

You will prepare analyses and reports that support management and staff in making good decisions based on a solid data foundation. This includes delivering data for a strategic level for management, as well as providing data that can be used in daily operations at staff level, so that employees gain insight into how they take shared responsibility for the area’s finances.

We therefore seek a profile who masters both the technical side of data processing and can communicate connections between activity, economy, needs and results in an easily understandable way. You must therefore be able to translate complex data into clear messages and present analyses for center management, section management, department management and staff.

You will become an important sparring partner for both the center's management team, caseworkers and the finance department, and you will play an active role in collaboration with the municipality's Data Program , which develops the data model that makes data available for better governance in the social area.

You will be employed in the center's support unit, which consists of 19 employees with tasks including, among others, finance, political case processing, communication and development. You will report to the head of support, Claudia Westh Lonning .

You will also have a colleague who handles similar data analysis and financial tasks in the employment area , and who also has some insight into the social area, which provides opportunities for close collaboration, sparring and knowledge sharing.

Your main tasks will be

  • A primary task will be to develop management reports and analyses that support governance and development of the adult-specialised social area. At the same time, these must be continuously maintained
  • Prepare local ad hoc analyses and reporting
  • Monitor and perform minor maintenance tasks on the center's data products
  • Work closely with the municipality's finance department on budget planning and follow-up, financial analyses and forecasts
  • Participate in cross-cutting collaboration with the Digitalisation Department on data integration, BI solutions and development of data tools
  • Actively contribute to the municipality's Data Program with a focus on developing data models and ensuring data quality
  • Carry out data-driven analyses of consumption, target groups, effects and development trends in the social area
  • Translate complex data into easily understandable communication for different audiences, including management.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant advanced education, e.g. MSc in Political Science, MSc in Economics, MSc in Sociology, data science or similar, or have relevant professional experience
  • Have experience with Power BI, report development and data analysis, preferably from the municipal social area or another politically governed organisation. It would be an advantage if you have knowledge of KMD Nexus and KMD Insight.
  • Have knowledge of the Social Services Act for the adult area or are motivated to acquire this
  • Can work in a structured and independent manner – and at the same time thrive in cross-cutting collaboration
  • Are analytically strong, work in a structured way and are motivated by creating insights that support strategic, tactical and operational management
  • Are good at communicating complex analyses in a clear and comprehensible way
  • Have an eye for both detail and the strategic perspective.

We offer

  • An exciting position with great influence on the development of the social area
  • Close collaboration with a colleague who works with similar tasks in the employment area
  • A professionally strong and committed work environment with focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Opportunity for professional development and further education
  • Flexible work arrangements and the possibility of home work by agreement.
