Daycare Manager Wanted at Børnehuset Vægterparken

Do you want to lead a developing daycare – together with a strong leadership team?

We are seeking a development-oriented and clear day-care leader who wants to head the continued development of the pedagogical quality at Børnehuset Vægterparken.

You will lead your own house with the opportunity to make a clear professional and managerial mark. You are not alone in the task. The house's sous-chef is an important collaborative partner in both daily operations and the pedagogical development.

A daycare with ambitions

Vægterparken consists of two departments, a nursery with 2 rooms and a kindergarten with 3 rooms. We have an ambition to create a clear shared direction for the pedagogical work. It requires a leader who can see opportunities, create engagement and make development happen in practice.

Together with the staff, you shall create a shared understanding of what good pedagogical quality means in Vægterparken. You must be close to practice and interested in the pedagogical work that takes place in the rooms. At the same time you must be able to lift your gaze and assess whether the organization, learning environments, relationships, play and children's communities support the direction you have set.

In Tårnby Municipality we have maintained a traditional management structure because we want good opportunities for approachable and professional leadership close to each institution. This means that in each of Tårnby Municipality's 34 day-care facilities there is both a leader and a sous-chef.

Instead of cluster leadership we work in Tårnby Municipality with an accountable leadership network. This means that you become part of a strong leadership network together with the leaders from the day-care facilities that are in Vægterparken's school district. In the leadership network, day-care leaders meet every 6 weeks for sparring and professional discussion. There is a high degree of team spirit, shared responsibility and collaboration to solve the tasks.

Additionally, as day-care leader in Vægterparken you will

• have a competent leadership team with a sous-chef with whom you can share the leadership task
• an engaged staff, consisting of both pedagogues, PAU staff and helpers
• a strong collaboration with a competent municipal staff comprising pedagogical consultants, pedagogical advisers, a play patrol and a skilled administration
• a competence center that supports your day-care and meets every 6 weeks with cross-disciplinary resource persons from PPR and the pedagogical adviser team
• good backing and close leadership from a department head and strategic collaboration with the center head.

A leadership role with both community and clear responsibility

Together with the sous-chef you shall create an overview, ensure daily operations, support the staff and drive the pedagogical development. As day-care leader you have the overall leadership responsibility.

In addition, your tasks will be

• to set clear goals for the core task and ensure progress in the pedagogical development
• to create coherence between the municipality's goals and the local pedagogical practice
• staff management, well-being, competence development and recruitment
• good and trust-based parent collaboration
• economy, resource management and safe operation.

We imagine that you

We assume that you have a pedagogical professional background and experience from the day-care sector. In addition you are an experienced leader who can both create clarity and direction and engage your staff in the joint leadership of the day-care.

Additionally we emphasize that as a leader you

• can set a clear professional pedagogical direction and create followers around it
• have the courage to challenge existing practice in a respectful and constructive way when you see a need for development
• can run a day-care with good pedagogical quality that children and parents are happy with and thrive in
• can lead a safe and dialogue-based parent collaboration and a strategic and close collaboration with the parent board
• can be a facilitator in cases where a family or child is struggling and needs help and support from the day-care and perhaps other parties in the municipality
• can create coherence between political decisions and practice in the day-care centers
• can work systematically with economy, operations and resources.
