About the job

Would you like to make a difference for women and children on the path out of violence?

Make 2027 the year you help others begin a new chapter. We are looking for an engaged colleague – your education may be as a pedagogue or equivalent.

Would you like to help make a difference for women and children on their way out of violence – and at the same time be part of a motivated, interdisciplinary community? We are looking for a new colleague who both loves social work and wants to be part of a everyday where relationships, professionalism and practical tasks go hand in hand.

Whether you come with solid experience or are at a point in your professional development where violence-related expertise calls to you, you are welcome to apply. There is room for both curiosity and learning with us.

About us

Randers Crisis Center has since 1981 been a safe place for women and children who need a stay away from violence in intimate relationships. We have room for 14 women and their accompanying children – and each year we support on average about 100 women and 130 children further towards a life without violence. We work with a narrative and trauma-informed approach, which we combine with solid violence-related expertise. This means that we talk with women and children about the violence, without reducing them to it.

We support women and children in regaining their agency and seeing their values and skills – and we are especially attentive to the “gaps” where new narratives can grow.

We place great emphasis on both professional and human community: We take care of each other as colleagues, share experiences and continually work on developing our methods and practice.

About the job

As the children’s contact person, you will become a central part of our multidisciplinary team. Your role will be to create safety, support and development as a contact person for children during their stay and at the same time contribute to ensuring that our combined efforts rest on a solid professional foundation.

Your tasks will include

  • Contact person for children at the crisis center
  • Relationship work and care – build trust and create a daily life characterized by safety, structure and support.
  • Child talks with focus on the children’s experiences and understandings of the violence
  • Family talks focusing on family dynamics
  • Possibly group programs for mothers and children based on a narrative and violence-related approach.
  • Social work tasks - e.g., documentation, reports, crisis center declarations, collaboration with the family department in the woman’s home municipality.
  • Activities – plan and implement activities for women and children that strengthen wellbeing, community and development.
  • Practical tasks in the house – e.g., moving in and out, cooking, cleaning and other daily chores that help create a safe and inviting environment.
  • Professional reflection and development – participate in supervision, professional discussions and evaluations of efforts, so we can continually adjust and strengthen our practice.

We are looking for a colleague who sees themselves in this

  • You are an engaged pedagog or equivalent, with relevant continuing education.
  • You very much may have experience with, or interest in, narrative practice and the violence field.
  • You are relationship-strong and able to build trust, even when life is chaotic for women and children.
  • You have good written skills and can articulate clearly in notifications, declarations and professional notes.
  • You are practically minded: you take action when there are daily tasks, and see it as a natural part of the whole.
  • You have an eye for both the individual and the community – and you thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • You have experience from crisis centers and/or the violence field – or a strong motivation to learn and develop yourself within the field with us.

We offer

  • A meaningful job where you can clearly see that your efforts make a difference for women and children.
  • A professionally strong environment with access to supervision, continuing education and ongoing development.
  • A strong collegial community where we care for each other – and where humor is a natural part of daily life.
  • A workplace where safety, high professionalism and development are central guiding stars.
  • Salary according to qualifications, attractive pension scheme and the necessary framework to succeed in the job.
