Department Manager with a social work background for the Grøndalsvænge residential and day care service

We are looking for you who are calm, well-balanced, and approachable in a daily life that can at times be unpredictable. As a leader you are strong in relationship work, have a natural focus on good collaboration, and communicate trustfully and clearly. At the same time you have the courage and overview to make the tough decisions that are sometimes necessary to solve the core task.

You do not need to be the experienced leader, but a curious and open leader who wants to develop as a leader and who wants to lead employees.

You will become the leader for about 21 employees. Here, your responsibilities will include recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews (MUS), and handling of any absence and administrative tasks in connection with, e.g., hires, leave of absence.

Become part of a solid leadership team with experience

You will become part of a leadership team consisting of an offer manager and in total three department heads, where we lead the entire organization across. Therefore we expect you to be a team player who wants to brainstorm and lead together in a team. You can succeed with us if you find value in leading as a united leadership group.

We invest in your leadership development through a diploma in leadership, participation in the department head network, and ongoing supervision. We believe that courage, reflection, and action create the best solutions – with us it is more important to act and learn than to let things stand still.

Grøndalsvænge’s target group

At Grøndalsvænge we do our best to create well-being and quality of life in daily life for 48 joyful and unique people aged 40-80 years.

Grøndalsvænge’s wonderful residents all have physical and/or mental functional impairments, and the majority are elderly with corresponding support needs. Therefore the residents need extensive pedagogical support, care, and health-related nursing and treatment.

Some residents have – or are in the process of developing – dementia. The residents need support to maintain a good life, and we work with approaches and methods that meet the residents' different needs.

Grøndalsvænge’s dedicated staff work cross-professionally with backgrounds from various social and health care disciplines to meet the residents as well as possible from a holistic perspective and a learning approach. Our shared professional basis is neuropedagogy.

Your tasks include

• people manager for the staff – you lead by example in creating an open and trusting collaborative culture, where there is security to voice and challenge, you provide constructive feedback and sparring, and together with the staff you find good solutions
• ensure safe operation, so we comply with legal and professional requirements

We are looking for you who

• has leadership experience – preferably from a municipal workplace with knowledge of the special area
• has a social-faglig education, such as a pedagogue or social worker
• actively wants to engage in constructive dialogues about task solving and set the direction and develop the offering together with your fellow leaders
• is an appreciative and visible leader in everyday life, and you thrive being among the staff and giving direct professional sparring

About Grøndalsvænge

Grøndalsvænge belongs to the area for Multiple disabilities in the Center for Long-Term Living Homes (CLB). The offer is located in Copenhagen NV near Fuglebakken Station. We have our own internal day service, a wonderful sensory garden, annual traditions such as Christmas and Easter lunches, and we continuously arrange exciting experiences for the residents, including a holiday week with activities and excursions. We are fortunate to have our own kitchen that makes homemade organic meals.

Employment terms

The position is full-time with commencement on January 1, 2027.

Salary according to current collective agreement. You will participate in the on-call rota for the standby phone.
