About the job

We are seeking a strategic, relational and action-oriented educational leader for VIA Nursing Education at Campus Horsens, who can create direction, followership and development – locally in Horsens and across VIA Nursing Education.

About the role

As the educational leader you will be a key person in an ambitious and engaged educational environment, where we work closely together to develop the Nursing Education and ensure high quality in teaching and the study environment. You will be responsible for the professional, pedagogical and organizational leadership of the Nursing Education in Horsens – including day-to-day operations and the ongoing development of the program. The program enrolls about 150 nursing students per year, distributed over 2 admissions.

You will be responsible for the personnel management of two team coordinators, approximately 21 adjuncts and lecturers, and 1 administrative staff member. The instructors work with teaching, development and research. The program is organized into 2 teams, each with its own team coordinator.

You will become part of a strong collegial leadership community with high ambitions and close collaboration. The leadership group consists of the educational leaders from the other six offerings and the Dean of Education, whom you report to. Here you actively contribute to setting the strategic direction for all seven offerings and developing VIA Nursing Education as a single cohesive program. Together, the leadership group is responsible for turning strategies and reforms into practice and creating coherence between the common direction and the local leadership of the education in Horsens.

From January 2026 we have adjusted our internal organization so distributed leadership can unfold more clearly – both locally and across. This means that as a leader you must be able and willing to create good conditions for collaboration, knowledge flow and feedback culture while supporting employees’ professional responsibility and engagement.

Your leadership task

Leading with us is about creating meaning and direction in a collective. You must be present and accessible in everyday life, and at the same time able to set a clear strategic course that inspires and unites. You lead through dialogue, involvement and recognition – and you create followership by bringing employees’ competencies into play.

You will become an important bridge between the education and its collaborators – both internally on campus and externally in municipalities, region and clinical practice. You must be able to navigate in complex contexts and contribute to cohesion and development across disciplines and geographies.

A central task will be to set the direction for the further development of the program – in close interaction with the leadership group and the teaching staff. In 2027 we will implement a new nursing education, and the work of developing and planning this will be a significant part of your leadership task in the coming years.

We imagine that you

  • Have relevant leadership experience and thrive in the tension between strategy and practice.
  • Have a health-professional background and a relevant leadership education at the graduate or master level, possibly supplemented with a pedagogical education.
  • Have experience with personnel management of knowledge workers and pedagogical development work.
  • Are a present and clear leader who creates direction, followership and engagement through involvement and leadership feedback.
  • Have an eye for both operations and development and can prioritize and create progress in a complex daily life.
  • Are committed to building strong relationships and collaborations – both internally and externally.
  • Have good business acumen and experience with financial management.

We offer

As the educational leader at VIA Nursing Education in Horsens you will have a central role and a meaningful leadership task with clear responsibility, great influence and close interaction with staff, students and partners.

You will become part of an ambitious development effort where we together rethink the Nursing Education in light of a changing health care system and new requirements for future professional education.

You will become part of an engaged academic educational community, where competent staff work closely together to create value for our students, clients and the welfare society around us.

You will have good opportunities for professional and personal development, influence and responsibility for a complex and meaningful task in an environment where your ideas and initiatives can leave a mark – both locally and nationally.

You will become part of a lively, cross-disciplinary campus environment with a focus on professionalism, well-being and collaboration.
