Director of Children and Schools

Randers Municipality is seeking a new Director for Children and Schools. You will be responsible for Children, Schools, Family, Secretariat as well as Finance and Administration. The area employs about 3,000 staff and interacts with around 16,500 children every day.

The position is a central top leadership role in one of the country’s largest municipalities. You will become part of the municipality's overall management and also play a key role in Randers Municipality's Future – the council's and the municipality's major strategic change effort. Here the ambition is to create better life chances for more citizens through, among other things, education, employment and well-being.

As director you thereby assume both the responsibility for a large and complex organization and the opportunity to shape some of Randers Municipality's most important strategic agendas.

You will become part of a management team that works collegially, helps each other and takes joint responsibility for the municipality's development, and you will take over leadership of an experienced leadership group with clear professional competencies.

In the coming period there will, among other things, be particular leadership attention on capacity in the daycare area, quality and results in primary education, finances and prioritization, and the coherence between general and special areas. In addition comes work with early and coherent interventions for children and youth in vulnerable positions.

We are looking for an experienced and trust-building leader with municipal experience and a secure eye for the whole. You have solid management experience, preferably at director level and at minimum with management of managers. You create followership, set direction and give skilled managers real responsibility and room for leadership. Insight into the children and youth area is an advantage, but the crucial is your ability to lead the whole and navigate safely in the municipal reality.
