Director of IT for Customs, Motor and Cross-cutting Operations

Are you ready to join the top management of Denmark's largest IT agency, and would you contribute to increasing trust in the Tax Administration? Then you may be the new Director of Professional Services at the Development and Simplification Agency.

Your responsibility as director

As Director of IT for Customs, Motor and Cross-cutting Operations, you will lead a professional area with almost 340 employees, managed by three deputy directors and 19 section heads. The area manages a financial framework of over DKK 1.3 billion. You will thus be a top executive in your own right while also being part of a management board.

The director has overall responsibility for the development, maintenance and operation of the IT systems that support the Tax Administration and the Motor Vehicle Agency. At the same time, the directorate is responsible for a number of cross-cutting methods and standards as well as for the Tax and Growth Minister's own IT operations, including user support for the ministry's more than 12,000 employees.

You will be one of five directors who together with the director of the agency form the top management. The Development and Simplification Agency is a changing organization, and as part of a relatively new leadership team you will have ample opportunity to influence decisions about the agency’s development and strategic direction.

You will initially be responsible for, among other things

• Realisation of IT development projects and programs as well as optimization and efficiency improvements of existing IT solutions in the respective customs and motor areas.
• Creating a transparent basis for the IT priorities of the Customs Administration and the Motor Vehicle Agency, including advising on value-creating and timely IT solutions.
• The strategic direction for the development, implementation and maintenance of common methods for project management, architecture and technology across the Tax Administration.
• Implementation of the agency's IT operations strategy as well as support and development of the Tax Administration's own IT operations and collaboration with suppliers in this area.
• Establishing and expanding cooperation with the State IT on the operation of the Tax and Growth Minister's basic IT, including optimization and efficiency improvements of operations.

The position is placed in salary framework 39, and the workplace is Frederiksberg. The directorate's employees are physically located in Frederiksberg and in Aalborg.

Our expectations of you

We are seeking a director with top management experience and solid knowledge of IT operations and development. It is important that you can build and maintain trusting and constructive relations with the agency's internal and external partners, just as you must be able to participate in the strategic and business development of the agency and the Tax Administration.

Specifically, we imagine that you

• have substantial leadership experience at a strategic level from a politically governed organization
• have spent a significant part of your career working with IT and are able to bridge the business and technical perspectives
• can create good collaborative relations internally in the agency, across the Tax and Growth Ministry group and with external partners
• have political acumen and strong communication skills, capable of ensuring transparency in the agency's work at the political level
• can ensure progress in larger and more complex projects with many stakeholders
• are a clear and motivating leader who sets direction for leaders and staff in the area.

About us

The Development and Simplification Agency has about 1,500 employees who work to develop, operate and maintain new and existing IT systems in the Tax and Growth Ministry group, so that they are stable, secure and cost-effective.

You should be aware that your employment is subject to you being security cleared and maintaining this security clearance during your employment in the role. If you are already security cleared at another public authority and you are offered the position, we would like to take over your security clearance from your current employer if the conditions for this are met.

Salary and employment terms are negotiated in accordance with the framework agreement on contract employment of managers in the state. The position is placed in pay group 3, corresponding to salary framework 39. The position is expected to be filled on a permanent basis.

You will be employed by the Tax and Growth Ministry with its associated institutions. The workplace is Osvald Helmuths Vej 4, 2000 Frederiksberg.
